Re: P=P is a Contradiction
Good grief. that is not a square circle.
Re: P=P is a Contradiction
Logically/Mathematically that is a square circle.
If you meant something different, explain your meaning.

Re: P=P is a Contradiction
Show me a square that has only one distance for its radius.
Re: P=P is a Contradiction
I did!!!!!!!raw_thought wrote: ↑Thu Sep 17, 2020 7:39 pm Show me a square that has only one distance for its radius.
Read the wikipedia article. Even the specific meaning of "distance" is defined for you.

Re: P=P is a Contradiction
By definition a circle has only one numerical value for its radius. Squares have different distances from its center.

By whose definition?raw_thought wrote: ↑Thu Sep 17, 2020 7:41 pm By definition a circle has only one numerical value for its radius. Squares have different distances from its center.
By which definition of "distance" ?

Note that the diagonal "radius" is different from the vertical and horizonal "radius".

No it isn't. you are measuring "distance" wrong.raw_thought wrote: ↑Thu Sep 17, 2020 7:44 pm https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taxicab_g ... Circle.svg

Note that the up and down lengths are greater then the distance of the diagonal lines.

Re: P=P is a Contradiction
Math has many different definitions of "distance".
Which one are you using?
Re: P=P is a Contradiction
No. They are not.raw_thought wrote: ↑Thu Sep 17, 2020 7:47 pm https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taxicab_g ... Circle.svg

They are identical. You are MEASURING "distance" using the wrong definition.

look at the top picture. The dot at the top is 2 from the center. The diagonal dot is 1 unit from the center.

Re: P=P is a Contradiction
Any dot on the circumference is 1 unit from the center!!!!raw_thought wrote: ↑Thu Sep 17, 2020 7:50 pm https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taxicab_g ... Circle.svg

That's why it's a circle.
YOU ARE USING THE WRONG UNIT.
Read this paragraph and understand it.
In taxicab geometry, distance is determined by a different metric than in Euclidean geometry, and the shape of circles changes as well.

Re: P=P is a Contradiction
I am using the units in the picture. Its 2 units from the top to the center and only one unit diagonally.
