Back in 1969, my best friend turned me on to their beautiful music. I don't remember what I did with my meager collection of albums, but I'm pretty sure I had one of their first albums. I think it was the one that had this image...
...on its cover.
To me, Jacqui McShee's singing style and vocal tone was (is) absolutely perfect for those old English folksy songs.
And I can't remember if it was Bert Jansch or John Renbourn (the two guitarists/vocalists) who allegedly said, "I'm just in it for the beer."
