Do you have evidence that women follow recipes better than men do?
... there are no real culinary female innovators.
Can you cite some evidence for the claim that all culinary innovation is by men rather than women?
... females fail to be as funny as men.
Even Hitchens didn't make that claim! But maybe he would have done if he had your evidence. What evidence do
you have?
I have no evidence that pigs cannot fly.
I only know that none has ever done so, as you must offer an example of a great innovator in cooking which is female.
I like how you easily excuse Hitchens.
His fame makes him more of an authority.
Did you listen to his claims?
What claims did he make?
He claims that men and masculine females are funny.
The masculine element is implied. He explains the evolutionary reasons.
Also interesting how you do not get into comedy, because here the differences are so striking as to be everywhere.
No female comedian can compare to the best male ones...and the only ones that even come close, are dykes.
If you think the cutesy crap Ellen DeGeneres or Lisa Lampanelli or Roseanne Barr vomits compares to a Chris Rock or George Carlin or Bill Hicks then you lack the mental flexibility taste requires.
The same thing goes for cooking. Here females are good supportive elements. they follow the status quo, they follow recipes.
Men try to break the rules and innovate. They improvise and create.
This is why males are dominant in all fields and they lead in innovating, and advancing them.
Females contribute, sometimes brilliantly, but rarely innovate and when they do they are part of a group or a team.
If after thousands of years Hypatia and Ayn Rand is what we have as examples of females thinkers, then what poor examples they are.
In my experience my mother was a good cook. she followed her own mother's recipes perfectly and held our traditions intact.
My father, on the other hand, was a hit or miss cook. He could not help but add his own ingredient. A few times it worked, but mostly it resulted in distasteful results.
Now I find myself following his example.
I see a television show with a recipe I want to try.
I start off well but then I cannot help myself: I must add my own touch.
Men challenge the status quo, females follow it diligently.
Men hover around mediocrity, men are about hit or miss. they either come up with works of genius or worthless crap.
This is why once females have been freed from a culture's traditions the culture disappears.
The current War on Terror and Globalization, is a war on cultures.
It is an all-leveling bulldozer. It begins by "emancipating" females not from masculine dominance but from the males carrying cultural traditions other than this modern nihilistic one.
