The Big Bang is Busted
Re: The Big Bang is Busted
Sheresofbalance ,,I know the dopler effect is real ,,
So is gravities effect on light ,
So is the chemical composition of the gases surrounding an object effecting the light .
Which of these are you going to say isn't involved ,,???
I have spent time challenging OLbers Paradox ,???or something ,
The claim that "because the night sky is not a blanket of white ,
the Universe must not be infinite"
But now we know that beyond about 13 billion light years ,
the images are so redshifted as to no longer be visable light,
so Olber was wrong ,and the Universe probably is infinite ,
But olber is still regarded as correct,,???
Science is a bit slow to correct it'self ,
we need to give it a nudge every now and then

SoB is right. Unless you actually understand the BB, you are in no position to say it is not correct.

Re: The Big Bang is Busted
I have one thought on the subject. I wonder how they differentiate between red attributed to an opening radial velocity and that of temperature.

There are a lot of possibilities ,
Do I think the BB is probable ,,"NO"
When you start a theory with the idea that there was no time and no Universe ,
before the bang ,
My eyes roll back in my head and I say talk to the hand .
Don't waste my time and intellect on such nonsense .
The Universe is Infinite .
When they come up with a model that includes a infinite Universe .
They will have my attention , and respect
Re: The Big Bang is Busted
Bible’s stories.
Old Bible story:
"He...hanged the Earth upon nothing." / Job 26:7 /
New Bible story:
According to the many scientific experts however,
space didn't exist prior to the Big Bang.
It is possible to say,
"He...hanged the Big Bang upon nothing."
==.
Isn’t this situation strange?
But if we think that ‘nothing’ is a Reference Frame
( for example – Vacuum) then the situation will be more practicable.

Thanks for sharing your belief, you have a lot of presupposition there, and don't we all, but I'd be the first to admit that in fact we just don't know. But what ever the reality of our birth actually is, in truth, it's waiting for us to uncover, assuming we're capable of surviving ourselves/seeing beyond our noses!
We are young! I guess the best thing we can do, is to try and balance our spheres, as in nature, in everything we do, or chaos will ensue, and on every available clear night, in a location with no light pollution, if that's possible anymore, sit back and enjoy the light show. The truth, was/is/shall ever be, our universe!
Mankind can be such a numb-skull, enjoy it while you can!

Easy there is no temperature in a vacuum.
Re: The Big Bang is Busted
Socratus ,,,could you describe nothing please ,
before this wee bang there was "nothing",?????
in detail please exactly what existed in "the space" the Universe is about to "expand into"
and if what went bang wasn't a black hole,
Where did all the matter come from ,
When your talking the "known Universe",
we are talking about a shit load of matter ,
Just one black hole can contain billions of suns , and there are billions of black holes .This is such a huge amount of matter .
the idea it came from "nothing" is in my humble/arrogant opinion ,
"completely insane"

Re: The Big Bang is Busted
My point, for those that may not understand, is that if a star relative to earth is opening, then it always has, relative to our existence, let alone our capability of effectively peering into the heavens, such that, how could Doppler shift possibly be seen. Couldn't it simply be a star of small mass, thus burning red that's traveling on our relative trajectory at our relative speed?SpheresOfBalance wrote:I have one thought on the subject. You're measuring 13.7 billion earth years against what (how old are you anyway?), maybe 50-60 earth years.Godfree wrote:Socratus ,,,could you describe nothing please ,

You're measuring the universe's 13.7 billion earth years against what, humanities 200,000 earth years.
You're measuring that which is at the very end of an unknown chain of events against that of an unknown chain of events, that you may or may not even be capable of comprehending.
Just because you can look at your hand, doesn't mean you can know the secrets of life.
I for one am extremely humbled by the universe and do not profess to know it's secrets, as they could cause my brain to implode into a black hole! Then I'd have to say, come here little star, a little bit closer to my event horizon.
I figure we'd know the truth in about 13.7 billion years, that is if we don't finish ourselves off in the next few, due to our falsehood of a selfishness perspective. It's not really selfish, if it includes your inhalation, its actually more like your folly!
Re: The Big Bang is Busted
Speresofbalance ,
You didn't answer any of my questions ,
like most here you rubbish my claims and waffle on about other things that really don't relate to the questions posed .
I'm not measuring 13.7 billion years against?"humanities 200,000 years .
for starters humans have walked the planet for over 3 million years .
Our sun is about 4.5 billion years old ,and will live for about another 5 .
So it will take about 10 billion years for our sun to be born live and die .
Big suns can become black holes .
Some black holes are as big as 18 billion suns .
So be brave ,take a risk , and in your humble opinion ,
"how long would it take to make such a big black hole"<?????????

Re: The Big Bang is Busted
Godfree, every bit of this was an answer to your inability to consider 'nothing.' My point was that just because your puny little 18-100 earth year human mind cannot fathom 'nothing' that possibly dates 13.7 billion earth years ago, doesn't mean it wasn't the condition prior to the big bang. You assume that your take on universal physics is the only thing possible as if you could possibly know. The human race is an insignificant spec in an infinite sea of possibility. For any human to claim to "KNOW" anything about the universe if pure falsehood. You may hypothesize however.SpheresOfBalance wrote:You're measuring 13.7 billion earth years against what (how old are you anyway?), maybe 50-60 earth years.Godfree wrote:Socratus ,,,could you describe nothing please ,

As a matter of fact I've previously posited that nothing could have been just as easily as something.
Re: The Big Bang is Busted
Nothing,,????
like between your ears .
Yes we are a insignificant spec in a infinite Universe.
You actually said something .
I repeat , "what exists prior to the BB ,"
what is in the space before the space existed .???
To say nonsense like no space time , will fly over the heads of most .
Try and remember these are theories ,
if the bb isn't true ,
what other theories are there .
WEll the Universe could be infinite , the bbt claims it is finite .
try describing the edge of the Universe , whats on the other side ,???
Hubble admitted not being able to see the edge .
So if the Universe is infinite the bbt is bullshit,,!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nothing has to exist at all!
To claim it does, as if you know, is a falsehood!
So what peer reviewed scientific papers have you authored? Did you have Stephen take a look at them. It's a shame Albert is dead, you could show him a thing or two.
Re: The Big Bang is Busted
Nothing has to exist at all ,
I presume you meant nothing is a given ,we must prove everything ,
yet we are entrenched in the madness called religion,
I use that same rationale for religion ,god doesn't have to exist , prove he does .
My intellect and suggestions are constantly being attacked ,
I don't take it personal .
I ask a lot of questions ,ie ,could be ,what about ,if.
to ask the question seems like you lot think I'm stating it as scientific fact .
The fact that we exist , is proof something exists .
my logic would suggest the Universe has always been and always will be.
can I prove it , no ,and what I'm debating most of it isn't proven either .
