God and Consciousness: The Seat and Source of All Power
I’m calling the name of our Creator ‘God’, only to avoid using names attributed to him by others. God by any other name is God.
In considering the experience of consciousness, I see only two possibilities. I’m sure there may be more, but I see only two. Either God is consciousness or, God created consciousness. If God created consciousness, then He exists outside of his creation. If he is consciousness as a whole, then we are right to call ‘it’ God. If it’s the latter case, the name God and the word consciousness represent one and the same.
Now, if God is indeed a name or title that belongs to all that is awareness, the word God serves a purpose that serves mankind. By giving himself the name we call God, it established a portal or means for an expected two-way communication. By creating a persona and giving us the concept of a singular seat of power, which does not exist in the broader term Consciousness, opened up for us, the base for a relationship. While consciousness may be the source of everything that exists in our awareness, that alone would still leave us with no specific point of worship. Only by calling on the name of God, or whatever name you give him, can we imagine a Being that responds to our prayers and worship.
Since we are told that God created man in his image, we are given a comfort we would not have without a persona. We as created entities, are able to better relate to a Creator whose image we reflect.
It is for this reason, that I use the words God and Consciousness interchangeably; both or either, account for the source of us.

Re: Is God Consciousness?
Yes God is well described as consciousness
That is the only place any of our human constructs can live.
If a body has no conscious mind, nothing can exist to it's reality.
It could not discern the gift of knowing it is living in the best of all possible worlds.
