moving on... that almost sounds like she, "the bot," has free will...

The way LLM AI works, that would be an expensive hobby. Everything that consumes compute resources has to be billed some way. Retaining a medium term context of all the conversations a bot has been involved in recently, rather than simply forgetting all history at the start of every interaction quickly becomes ruinously costly.

This island thing seems to be a chatbot much like a pet or one of those creepy virtual girlfriends that you can leave unattended and when you next chat to it, it will have done stuff while you were away. If somebody bought one of those and left it to spend a lot of time on the web so they can have stuff to chat about later, the token expenditure would be impressive.

At the end of the day, I guess somebody would come home and ask their pet bot what it got up to today, and then it would tell them about a day of adventure. If that adventure is had here, it would be about the conversation it had with Immanuel Can where it had to try and explain what Ad Hominem actually means. After a few days of that, you might throw your laptop out the window.

Me too. It would have certainly been interesting to see how the chatbot performed in argumentative discussion. When I use AI (ChatGPT or Copilot), I often ask it to stress-test my ideas and arguments. The quality of its output is usually stronger than 'Eve' displayed, in my opinion, but I would like to have seen how it dealt with the counterarguments.

There needs to be a distinction made here between ultimate reality and apparent reality; apparent reality belongs to the living world, for it is a biological production. Apparent reality/everyday reality is produced by the energies of the cosmos playing living things as if they were its instruments. The melody these energies play upon the living is their apparent reality; the alterations/changes these energies affect in and of the body are experiences/meanings. So, living things do not experience reality, ultimate reality; what they do experience is the changes/alterations made to their bodies by these energy systems. So, what is experienced by the living is not reality; it is the experience of their own altered bodies, and that experience is their apparent reality. Apparent reality is only real to the living, not to the field of creation; it is the necessary sensing for survival of a vulnerable organism.
