Trump is insane. I can't believe the man is the leader of the most powerful nation on Earth. How? How could that possibly come to be? Charles Manson may as well be President. Maybe the second coming will be Charles Manson returning to raise the dead?FlashDangerpants wrote: ↑Fri Oct 09, 2026 12:14 pmOh no... now you are THE ENEMY of TRUMP!
Trump says anyone who does not refer to AI as ‘super intelligence’ is ‘THE ENEMY'
“The White House considers anyone that uses the term, ‘Artificial Intelligence,’ as opposed to the highly accepted new and more accurate term, ‘Super Intelligence,’ THE ENEMY!” Trump said on Truth Social.

Re: O Canada
Trump was insane during his first term, but those "adults in the room" kept him from starting any wars or engaging in the more blatant levels of corruption. It only went completely off the rails at the end when he side-lined the last of them and tried to overthrow your democracy. But he suffered no lasting consequence from anything, and now, with his inhibitions already compromised by failing mental acuity, he has no adults in the room and nobody to prevent him launching ruinous wars among his many other catastrophic choices.Gary Childress wrote: ↑Fri Oct 09, 2026 12:56 pmTrump is insane. The odd thing is though, this weird bullshit about Super Intelligence is the first time somebody as far down the rabbit hole as Walker can see the problem. After all the other nonsense that Walker and Imp and IC have internalised for the sake of loyalty and conformity, this is the thing where he can't bring himself to fall into line?
We live in crazy times Gary. I know you like to think you are the crazy one, but the truth is it's become a group project.

It's unfortunate. There doesn't seem to be any way to talk sense into the people leading us. I'm not looking forward to joining their trip to hell in a handbasket, but I may not have much choice.FlashDangerpants wrote: ↑Fri Oct 09, 2026 3:28 pmTrump was insane during his first term, but those "adults in the room" kept him from starting any wars or engaging in the more blatant levels of corruption. "Trump's AI rebrand is catching on with Elon Musk and Marc Benioff", but how can they compare to your expertise, Gary?

There are at least two competing explanations for this behaviour.Gary Childress wrote: ↑Fri Oct 09, 2026 12:56 pm Trump is insane. 1) Trump is insane
2) Trump is really talented at generating distractions. He wants people to huff and rant about his renaming of Lake Ontario, or AI, or oxygen (Trumpigen??) or whatever because although he personally couldn't give two shakes of a gnat's willy what you call those things, it stops you from paying attention to (for example) the ill conceived forever-war he launched against Iran, or his many other incompetent blunders.
Re: O Canada
It's clear that Trump's style is quite extravagant, but if you look at the bottom line, blood hasn't been spilled in the confrontation with Iran for a long time. While the ayatollahs who are not yet in hell are becoming more and more neutralized.
And in Gaza, too, it is relatively quiet, and Trump deserves no small credit for this.
Despite the demagogic West's crazy, self-destructive efforts against Russia in Ukraine, even there, "crazy" Trump is about to put an end to the absolutely crazy carnage.
In Venezuela, which had hit rock bottom, he neutralized a mad dictator.
If Trump can steer an insane world onto a sane path, then extravagance can be forgiven, however.
Socialism has proven its falsity everywhere, but then the crazy Western Little Red Riding Hood woke up and began furiously surrendering to the Islamist wolf in "socialist" skin.
But even Trump's extravagance might not be enough to bring these Little Red Riding Hoods to their senses.

Re: O Canada
This is quite accurate.
One wonders what the Leftists imagine is going to happen, the minute they help Islamists destroy the West. Will the Islamists then say, "Hooray, Lefties...you have set us free to let you all continue your Socialist lifestyles, your LGB...etc., your secularism, your vaunted tolerance, your personal freedoms, your liberation of women, your indifference to our religion...Go ahead...you carry on as you see fit, and we'll do the same."
Anybody with an ounce of sense knows exactly what's going to happen. The weak and effeminate Left is going to be swallowed whole by the Islamists, who are not at all squeamish about imposing their priorities on anybody, and making them "submit" (which is what "Islam" means) to Sharia, to the Caliphate, and to their religious-political dogma. But the Left is so consumed with toxic hatred for the West that it's not even seeing it coming.

Rick's mistake lies in limiting it to two options which are probably both correct. Leaving out other correct influences, such as reduced inhibitions resulting from fronto-temporal dementia. Also the pressures of imminent death leading him to beg and squeal to have his name and likeness carved on everything and to be remembered for adding extra territory to the USA.Will Bouwman wrote: ↑Mon Oct 12, 2026 8:38 amOccam's razor, methinks.RickLewis wrote: ↑Sun Oct 11, 2026 11:28 pmThere are at least two competing explanations for this behaviour.

The madness, the dementia, the weakening of his body following a series of small strokes, the sense that he will soon be dead and his grave will be the largest unisex toilet ever built... it all adds up to a big load of trouble for us all.
Oh, and with those cankles indicating advanced heart disease, they almost certainly have stopped him crushing up Adderall and snorting it. His ticker can't take much more of that. In unrelated matters, I haven't seen him do one of those sniffling speaches he used to do on a regular basis for a long time. Have you?

It's early days yet. This story has a loooong way to go, if you understand separatism at all. It's pretty durable in Quebec. We'll have to see how long it lasts in Alberta.FlashDangerpants wrote: ↑Tue Oct 20, 2026 3:28 pmWell... that prediction aged like milk.Immanuel Can wrote: ↑Fri Sep 25, 2026 3:09 am Just wait until the Liberals so alienate the West that Alberta defects...Saskatchewan is certain to follow, and then Manitoba and then BC will have to, or be isolated.

Yes, but comparison of the separation movement in Quebec is very different form that in Alberta.Immanuel Can wrote: ↑Tue Oct 20, 2026 3:39 pm It's early days yet. Q is for historical/cultural reasons. They might choose to separate even at some economic cost.
A is economic only, not cultural. They would not choose to separate except if at economic gain.
Neither would choose to separate until Trump is no more.

It is. Given its economic consequences, it may turn out to be much more serious than anything we've seen from Quebec. Time will tell.MikeNovack wrote: ↑Tue Oct 20, 2026 5:21 pmYes, but comparison of the separation movement in Quebec is very different form that in Alberta.Immanuel Can wrote: ↑Tue Oct 20, 2026 3:39 pm It's early days yet. Quebec is "anchored" to the rest of Canada by a couple of considerations. One is their language/culture. They know full well that nobody is going to be more sympathetic to it than Canada has been. Another is their economic unsustainability. They run an inefficient, Leftist kind of political system that cannot be sustained without the largesse Ottawa takes from Alberta in transfer payments. If that is gone, Quebec will collapse. Then there's a third -- highly problematic for any Separatist objective: namely, that aboriginals will claim the right to succeed from Quebec, in order to keep their subsidies from Ottawa. And if they do, they'll take the entire north from Quebec when they go.
So Quebec is anchored to Canada by three significant vulnerabilities. Alberta has none of these liabilities.
