Re: Riots in the city of love
France has a long history of student protests.
"international Islamic integration" is just nonsense.

It's the start of the school year, that means it's student riot season in France. Why is some vile fascist on here randomly blaming Islam for that ancient French tradition?

Of course. The epidemic rise of mayhem since the arabs started comin' over is malarkey. The problem is when an angry immigrant arab commits a racially or culturally motivated crime, it's always especially obscene. Either he'll piss on some students or try to run some people over in his Kia. This is the only reason why all the shock and alarm. Statistically, immigrant crime of the same type committed by natives is so proportionately low it doesn't even deserve a look.

Now...what sort of social change could cause a shortage of housing, a shortage of schools, a shortage of public safety, a shortage of social programs, national economic collapse, a shortage of law enforcement, a shortage of territory, and a rise in sexual assaults, and riots...all at once?
Could one single thing ever do all of that at the same time? What would it be?

Any Marxist would tell you that.
Of course a Xenophobe would say "immigration".
Come on now, the current student riots NOTHING like those of 1968 (and those certainly nothing to do with immigration). I lost all my Situationist stuff in the 2006 house fire (in the room that burned) but once had translations of The Society of the Spectacle by Guy Debord and The Revolution of Everyday Life by Raoul Vaneigem.

Well, it couldn't be "capitalism." Capitalism MAKES money. And it's alleged to be heavy on civic order and prone to supporting law, and productive of housing, and not particularly involved with sexual assaults or...allegedly...involved in schooling. So I think the realists are going to have to side with your second explanation.MikeNovack wrote: ↑Tue Oct 06, 2026 11:56 pmCapitalism?Immanuel Can wrote: ↑Tue Oct 06, 2026 7:33 pm

Re: Riots in the city of love
Well, christian meta-eschatology is complex. The old man had to build a world that wouldn't last forever because its purpose was only to stage a series of tests for a particular species (us) that would eventually exit the world upon death. How many (more) people the old man wants to create is a mystery, but we do know that at some point, no more human beings will be born on the erf. It must depend on how big heaven is. If it can fit ten billion people, he might let the erf live a little longer so more people can be made.
We now have a world destined to be obliterated. But how? The theory is that through our own disgustingness shalt the antichrist come. This means that we were destined to become disgusting so that the antichrist could be produced. Ah. Think about it. An end of the world would not come to a world that was like the Jetsons or a planet sized episode of The Brady Bunch. The whole point of the world is to become a shit hole. It's the process dynamics of the christian eschatological system.
Now you know where I'm going with this, so i won't even say it. Lol, but imagine being a capitalist. One of God's own agents of destruction. How hot is that? And you can't be like 'yo, that's some evil shit' because capitalism is the built-in self-destruct mechanism put into the design by the old man himself.
We couldn't have chosen to avoid capitalism as history has shown. This means we're right on track, then.
Still, the actual end of the wizzle event is a mystery. Will it be a slow drawn out thing where the erf is a wage slave prison planet and the bourgeoisie live in space stations 'n shit... or will it come much sooner and be set off by an oil and/or religious war? Hard to say, mates.

Re: Riots in the city of love
(This should go in the True Story Day thread because it's gonna be about me again inevitably like it always is.)
Incidentally, this is what makes Marx so fabulous. He was in the most formal sense the first promethean thinker. By his design, we would stop god and his agents of destruction from turning the erf into a shit hole. Somehow, impossibly, we would save the erf and make it a pleasant place. Not even a utopia, just a pleasant place where you could get a clean table at a Taco Bell.
In theory, a marxist society would prevent the peoples from becoming the shallow slobs that would fight amongst themselves, finally ushering in the antichrizzle so god can then send his boys down to fight him and destroy the erf in the process. It's like god is a double-agent or a schizo because he's got both sides of the war on his payroll.
Anyway, yeah, that's why god especially hated Karl and cursed em with boils and exile and joblessness 'n all kinds of shit. Trust me, i know how god rolls. He made me try to claw my own eyes out while sleeping last year (still not certain it wasn't toxoplasmosis). Set me up with a very decent case of jock itch (first in my life... it was amazing) and some kind of martian fungus that almost ate my hand off and put me out of work for two weeks (I've got pics). All this while I'm trying to find/do honest work to make some money after losing everything and doing two years in prison for failing to write the three words 'in my van' on a registration form.
And you can guage the effectiveness of your attack on god by the succession of misfortune and bad luck that you experience. As i rope-a-dope the bum more and more bad things happen. For example, in the last eight or nine months, I've gone really hard like a militant atheist. Coincidentally, due to a consecutive series of very unfortunate things, I'm now broker than I've been in nine years, with two broke down vehicles and $5000 in credit card debt. Five years ago, i was merely trapped in this cat litter box, hated by the world, losing civil suits against employers that owed me, and getting maybe two jobs a week. Today, I'm getting no work, I'm in debt, and a capitalist has cost me $6000 (after credit interest is added).
This means I'm hurtin' em. He's putting his last bit of energy into trying to get these counters in because he can't get off the ropes.

Re: Riots in the city of love
"Capitalism MAKES money"
Please, if i may. Human labor makes 'money'. This money can be in the form of a tangible object assigned a static value (gold, dollars, coins, etc), or it can become metaphysical credit, if you will, in the event that payment of the first form isn't received. MC is when you get payment in the form of a returned favor because you did x for em, or, praise in general... respect, a feeling of indebtedness toward you that demands a degree of reverence. When you labor for someone and receive no tangible return, you get that stuff instead.
Oh shit lol... by chance, this is a bit about what Marxist call the alienation of the worker from the product of his labor. Not just by receiving less than the value of his labor in exchange for it. Another kind of loss. In the employee context, there is no connection between the consumer and the producer in any intimate sense. I buy the oranges you grew and bagged but don't know who tf you even are. You, in turn, buy faceless products on sterile shelves.
This would be more of a syndicalist's complaint, though. A marxist society would involve the same distance between producers and consumers, so. It has a nice touchy-feely feel to it, though. Poetic in a sense. You're like aw poor laborer omg he's ALIENATED and never got to meet the dude who bought one of the refrigerators he assembled.
That all being said, capitalism doesn't create money. It arranges the modes of production and distribution already existing into a capitalistic system. It is quite literally like an invasion of parasites into an already functioning economy with producers and consumers doing their daily thing. Capitalism is an economy symbiote that produces a privileged, non-laboring class inside the body of the host economy. You can plant it anywhere. All you need is arms enough to hold and defend property and force others to comply to using your property and taking employment from you. Behind every capitalist is a POleece man or an army poised to defend him and his property from anything you might do... from stealing it to destroying it to loitering in it.
You will also need some kind of money or credit system. You can't barter payment in a capitalist system for logistical reasons and grey areas. Capitalism requires a currency with a relatively stable value so that capitalists can draw definite profit in their exchange with the laborer. Wages simplify this exchange. I give you one coin to make x, and then i sell x for two coins.
You wouldn't find a capitalist that paid and sold his products for metaphysical credit. He wants real, hard, definite cash that nobody can deny is worth x amount.

You have this going for you, ICee. Capitalist's produce great economic stimulation that wouldn't otherwise be there if they didn't wage their warz.
One has to wonder how less technologically advanced we'd be had your Marxist utopia been achieved before 1900. And if that less advanced state would be necessarily a bad thing.
f****** capitalists and their super high tech jet fighters they had built to win some war that would lead the way in the navigational systems revolution with the D9n microcircuit haptic transponder. That kind of stuff.

Re: Riots in the city of love
No, not at all. It's a badly flawed system, for sure. It comes from the minds and procedures of fallen men.
But it's not nearly as badly flawed as all the alternatives...Socialism, feudalism, Fascism, monarchy, etc. And at least it generates value, supports achievement, encourages innovation, rewards merit, and produces general prosperity. Even Marx's successors, like Horkheimer, have willingly conceded that it does. They just wish it didn't.
