In seeking to neutralize the nuclear threat from Iran, Trump is clearly seeking to minimize civilian casualties.
Iranians greeted the news about sending Khamenei to hell with jubilation. On Khamenei's orders, more than 30,000 protesters were killed, including 226 children.
Only the IRGC and those who are fed by the IRGC did not rejoice.

But people shouldn't throw around numbers without understanding them and their implication.
If 30,000 protesters killed and ONLY 226 children that would represent incredibly/unbelievably good avoidance of killing children.
<< 226 is LESS THAN 1% of 30,000 >>
I do NOT believe those numbers. Either a lot fewer protesters killed or a lot more children.

I don't deny that the Iranian government is terrible. But attacking them militarily simply adds to their strength if you can't defeat them. The IRGC feeds off of being able to say that the US is a threat to the safety of Iranians. War is the easiest way to win a population's loyalty when the chips are down. Trump's rhetoric is a gift to the IRGC. Trump is a complete bumbling idiot. He should go. Netanyahu fighting everyone around him isn't helping Israel either. You're practically shooting yourselves in the foot. You're confirming to the IRGC that they are right to fear the West. Why? Because the West goes around everywhere fighting wars. Karma is real. We're going to reap it unless we can dump Trump and Netanyahu and get some people in the lead who will say, "Time out, let's all get a grip on ourselves." Diplomacy is the only sensible way forward. Otherwise, it's going to be a long, drawn-out fight, and there's no guarantee that Iran will lose it, and there are no guarantees that the fighting won't expand to include Iran's allies or economic partners against us.

One moment, Gary, have you written the letter to the ayatollahs yet? Otherwise, it turns out to be "we've been working hard."
Huh? Where does "we've been working hard" fit into anything? I don't see a coherent point to answer.
