(God’s command, continued)

I think the answer to the question speaks to the realities of a harsher and far more brutal world than most folks realize can exist, and when the harsh realities of that kind of world come to light by example, folks are repelled because of modern day moral implications ... especially free folks.

As a relevant historical example, absolute allegiance to a lord and master was probably critical to survival, and a lord’s command, taken to its extrapolated extreme, naturally becomes The Lord demanding the greatest sacrifice at the time to prove allegiance and faith, and that sacrifice apparently was a man’s bloodline.

Of course, this is just conjecture based on reasoning and no historical evidence other than prehistoric bones of people that indicate most folks of the (prehistoric) times in the caves died by violence, many from cutting weapons, and in terms of brutality, biblical times are much closer in time to the caves.

No doubt there are deeper meanings to the command, and perhaps more accurate than layman conjecture.

What are the other views, or meanings?

Why did God test Abraham's faith by asking him to sacrifice Isaac in Genesis 22:10?
https://biblehub.com/q/Why_test_Abraham ... rifice.htm
Conclusion: The Purpose Realized
God tested Abraham to unveil exemplary faith, foreshadow the gospel, condemn child sacrifice, affirm covenant promises, and declare that substitutionary atonement and resurrection hope are His redemptive plan. Genesis 22:10 thus stands as a pivot where human obedience and divine provision meet, illuminating the cross centuries in advance and inviting every reader to the same surrendering trust in the LORD who provides.

That is little more than deliberately torturing a living being. God is NOT benevolent; God is NOT good. Simple fact. Watching others lie to themselves and trying to pass their delusion on to me is not going to change the facts of life. The facts of life are grim. I'm sorry that others wish to fool themselves and live a lie. If that's what you wish to do, then don't count me in.
The world is predominately attachment.
Attachment is a two-edged sword.
Attachment causes the reactions of both suffering and tenacity.
Suffering is a reaction to attachment, and not all reactions are the same.
So are you "attached" to your children, oh great sage? And if so, can you unattach yourself from your children so that you can stop supporting a monster in the White House? Or have you finally decided to admit your mistake in supporting Trump, who has now pulled the rug out from under all of us (and the floor too), including your children and everyone else's children?

God is Gary’s boogie man.
Sounds like Trump is also a Gary boogie man.
Either Gary equates God and Trump, or …
Gary has issues with authority.
Maybe ... both?

Gary thinks that God commanded Abraham to kill his son, because Gary thinks God is a boogie-man.

:D

There's a saying about those who have issues with authority ...

He (or she) who licks, can bite.

“A man who would understand what freedom is must totally deny authority, which is extraordinarily difficult, it demands great attention. We may reject the authority of a guru, of a priest, of an idea, but we establish an authority in ourselves – that is ‘I think it is right, I know what I am saying, it is my experience. All that gives one the authority to assert, which is the same thing as the guru and the priest." – Jiddu Krishnamurti

Question asked by the sage jnani, Jiddu Krishnamurti:
https://kfoundation.org/krishnamurti-fr ... actuality/
“From there we can go into the question, whether time has a stop. Which means, can the mind, the brain itself, be absolutely still? – not controlled. If you control thought in order to be still, then it is still the movement of thought. Can the brain and the mind be absolutely still, which is the ending of time? Man has always desired throughout the ages to bring silence to the mind, which he called meditation, contemplation and so on. Can the mind be still? – not chattering, not imagining, not conscious if that stillness, because if you are conscious of that stillness there is a centre which is conscious, and that centre is part of time, put together by thought; therefore you are still within the area of reality and there is no ending in the world of reality of time.”

Walker's answer for the sage:
Yes. Thought can be stilled through meditation, but stilling the brain is organic death. Stilling the mind is the purpose and result of non-intellectual, seated meditation practice. In the process leading to stilled thoughts, which is the end of thought, the sensory gates close and after meditation, reopen beginning with the sense of thought, sometimes in a supramundane perceptual way followed by the five physical senses, that loses intensity after the practice and yet, carries on throughout the day of wood chopping and water hauling. Eventually, one no longer needs the boat, but it's pleasant to take a ride.

Realpolitik always boils down to the defense of selfish motives. And when the selfish try to absolve themselves of their selfishness, they often seem to resort to preaching Realpolitik to EVERYONE (in effect, universalizing it), which doesn't really work very well for anyone.

I agree, Gary. Noticing and vocalizing that the emperor is an idiot and has no clothes is not 'Trump Derangement Syndrome'. Worshipping and excusing and supporting such a man IS the TDS! That cutesy little label has always seemed so ridiculously backwards to me, and that's because the Trump crowd has to project everything off of themselves constantly. They accuse everyone else (just like Trump does) of being and doing all the stupid and deceptive shit that applies to themselves.

That must mean they realize it on some level, yes? So why are they doing it, I've wondered? I think maybe it's because they feel it empowers them through its shock value. 'Oooh look, we (Trump Supporters) are really and finally sticking it to everyone else we've hated and making them squirm.' Power! 'Let's pretend that it is them (the non-supporters) who have a derangement syndrome! And let's pretend that it is them (the non-supporters) who don't love America!' (Even though this movement is shredding everything the country was built on and for.) 'Yeh! No one will see through all of that if we just keep saying it over and over!'

Honestly, the whole production is so laughable for its transparent stupidity. I don't know whether to feel sorry for the obvious weakness of people to be swept up in it... or disgusted by their insistence on delusional choices and dishonest behavior.

I tend to come back to this explanation for myself: It's an insane ride we're on at the moment, and perhaps it is for some kind of evolutional correction/advancement... that is in direct response to such insanity festering in humankind. It has been brought bubbling to the surface like some kind of hot gas, and it might dissipate after burning for a while and laying waste to so much that people have held dear. Hopefully, future generations will learn from this and be so much wiser. We trusted the American system of checks and balances that was built on honor to some degree to protect us and provide security. Trump has shown what's possible to do without any honor -- and his supporters in large part reflect the same. Power and control at any cost IS the derangement.

You two consistently seek the little picture limited to the person.

I would encourage you both to strive towards mature philosophy by expanding your apprehension and elevate the grokking towards manifested principles, rather than remaining stuck in the circular reasoning of feeding the afflictions.

Question for AI:
What are similarities shared by TDS and misotheism?

AI answer:
Both TDS (Trump Derangement Sundrome) and misotheism involve a strong emotional response, where TDS reflects an intense dislike or hatred towards Donald Trump, while misotheism denotes a hatred of God or gods. Additionally, both concepts can be seen as reactions against perceived authority or belief systems, whether political or religious.

Gary, do you think that AI's answer describes you and if not, why?

Sorry swami, no honesty no cookie.
Actually, I'm showing you how your TDS affliction is sympatico with Misotheism.

All that remains is for you to realize the obvious, beginning with,

I'm not a swami, Gary.

I don't even know the qualifications for that. That's your thing.

Is it a designation of respect, or is it sarcasm based on whatever you're thinking?

(continued)

Given that you’re apparently an unconfessed, incarnate misotheist,
And given the spiritual connotations of “swami,”
I suggest that sarcasm, and everything behind it, is the answer that you'll likely try and dodge.

You see? A conclusion from reasoning rather than misotheistic emotion.

That's how it's done, Gary.

I was also also making this much more useful point, which I know was appreciated in time, by someone.

What is real does not change. Find that, not attachment.

The Left feeds hate into the TDS afflicted, to distract.
It works.

Before, during, and after Biden’s presidency … Trump is the Left’s focus.
Biden? Who’s Biden? Was he president.
Nothing happened during his term, certainly nothing to speak of ... because nothing was spoken of it.
The focus was on Trump.

Such is the tragedy of TDS.
After Trump leaves office, he will still be the focus of the Left.
To distract.

Check out this link.

Democrats made the fellow in this link popular.
The Democrat Party welcomes this link into their big tent.
The Party allies with this to get power, by any means necessary.

Rather demonic, don’t you think?
