How I study.

Post by Phil8659 »

I study, by reading, but when I study in depth, I digitalize a book.
The first book I digitalized was the Bible using a TI-99A. I hand typed the whole book. After that, I wrote a spell checker on that machine. It took 72 disks, as at that time, floppy's were some 300 and something Kb.
Although scanning came around, it took a long time for scanning a book to become worth the effort. Today scanning is very nice.

I learnt to type in the 9th, or 8th grade. It was that or home economics.

One work I did, and put on the Internet Archive, was the Works of Aristotle, however, I posted it but did not consider it yet done, as it still had artifacts in it. Be that at it may, one of these famous e-book places took the work, put a cover on it, and was selling it as their own. I knew it was mine, because of the artifacts still in it. I checked several pages to make sure. My finished product of that work does not have those artifacts. Doing any large ebook project is like combing the hair of a woman. You have to go over it several times.

I am about done with editing Collies Four Books, I will not include his footnotes as he was a bigot. The work itself is okay, but the typesetting on the work is the worst I have seen for that era. Duplicate words, misspelling, missing or incorrect punctuation. I suppose that is to be expected under his circumstances. I hope I have rid the text of all of this.
