Let’s have a look at what the Indian mystic had to say about evolution based on empirical reasoning.
“As the web issues out of the spider
And is withdrawn, as plants sprout from the earth,
As hair grows from the body, even so,
The sages say, this universe springs from
The deathless Self, the source of life.
The deathless Self meditated upon
Himself and projected the universe
As evolutionary energy.
From this energy developed life, mind,
The elements, and the world of karma,
Which is enchained by cause and effect.
The deathless Self sees all, knows all. From him
Springs Brahma, who embodies the process
Of evolution into name and form
By which the One appears to be many”.
Sounds familiar? Of course it does. It’s blindingly self-evident.
Is Evolution random or non-random

Re: Is Evolution random or non-random
While mutations occur randomly, natural selection is not random. Think of it this way: the Earth is as if a lock that changes its structure very slowly; the organism is the key to the lock, but through mutation, sometimes the key fits, but more often it does not; the environment, as the lock, determines the fate of the mutation/key. The organism/key is dependent upon the lock for its existence, and that is steadfast through all the Earth/lock changes; the Earth is dependent upon the cosmos and its changes. Both the organism and the Earth must follow the larger reality in their changes; that is a constant.
