The Lincoln Reflecting Pool is huge, the volume of water in it huge. STOP, THINK! Just how many gallons of some corrosive substance needed to be adding one part in a million? Not something some a few "terrorists" could be hand carrying. Is it suggested that several tanker trucks full of corrosive substance were driven there and nobody noticed?
NOTE" Well a few determined "terrorists" could carry enough for 1:1,000,000 --- three of them each with a gallon jug in each hand. But of course a much higher concentration of whatever needed to do something. The real reason for the coating failure is believed to be the lack of experience in "pool coating work" of the contractors given the job. The cause of the algae problem believed to be from the unwise color choice (should be a light reflective color to keep water temperature down)
