Donald Trump
Re: Donald Trump
Agreed. Jon Stewart has gotten me through the Trump years with lots of laughter and sane reasoning in a world gone mad.mickthinks wrote: ↑Tue May 19, 2026 8:46 am Bumping the thread because it’s a good home for this superb example of Jon Stewart’s work:

Re: Donald Trump
Saw a concerning article about Iran potentially taking over the Straight of Hormuz and charging fees for ships passing through. Apparently, the commission has been created now and skirts various international regulations about charging transit fees. The UN is going to need to make a ruling or something to that effect soon. Looks like wild man Trump is the gorrilla in the china shop. He's effectively fucked up the whole world now. We seem to be screwed at this point.

Let's elect an "orange hand grenade" to "dismantle" the "deep state" and replace it with dip shits. What could go wrong?

Re: Donald Trump
Isn't the "hand grenade" (or "armor-piercing shell") approach exactly what a couple of our beloved forum members (Alexis Jacobi and henry quirk) were calling for? Anyway, speaking of the orange grenade (stink bomb), according to Google, the following is a tiny glimpse of a few of Trump’s activities in the first half of 2026…
The unfortunate point of the above list is that a huge percentage of Americans (make that brain-dead zombies) are unable to discern any significant difference between #3 and that of the other numbers.1. On February 14 and 15, he played golf at the Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida.
2. On February 28, he danced to the song “YMCA” at a MAGA fund-raising gala in an ornate ballroom at his Mar-a-Lago resort.
3. On February 28, a few hours after dancing to the song “YMCA,” he murdered 120 little schoolgirls in Iran.
4. On June 8, he traveled to New York City to watch the New York Knicks play the San Antonio Spurs at Madison Square Garden.
5. On June 14 (today - his birthday), he is scheduled to host a professional UFC fight night directly on the south lawn of the White House.
It has become quite obvious that America is sleep-walking (make that sleep-running) down that special highway that AC/DC sang about.

I'm so glad the point of the post wasn't lost on you.
(Just kidding, imp, you know we love you, right?)
Anyway, according to Google AI...
_______The Two Ways to Look at It...
1. The Band's View: A fun, rowdy song about the hard work of touring and partying.
2. The Listener's View: A metaphor for a world moving too fast toward its own destruction.
Re: Donald Trump
When Lesley Stahl of "60 Minutes" asked Trump why he kept branding the press as fake news, he admitted, "I do it to discredit you all and demean you all so when you write negative stories about me, no one will believe you."
This has worked for Trump supporters. Inexplicably, they have continued to believe ONLY the news sources who champion his rampant and theatrical lies. All while Trump's entire persona and moment-to-moment agenda is clearly a self-serving farce on full display every day... and nearly everything he touches fails or worsens or is destroyed. People who still support Trump must be living in a reality that's incapable of seeing what they don't want to see. It's a surprising demonstration of choosing (and worshipping) human willfulness over logic and truth.
