Hi Lacewing, it's good to see you back in the asylum (I was getting worried about you).
Hi! Thank you! I had two critical health scares that ended up vanishing on the follow-up tests.

Since then, I've just been having fun and being productive -- glad to be alive. Still here on planet Earth.

Well, if we are viewing this from the Biblical perspective, then we need to keep in mind some of the "end times" prophecies.
According to Google's AI Overview (emphasis mine)...
AI Overview:
The phrase "I shall send them a strong delusion" comes from 2 Thessalonians 2:11 (KJV). In context, the Apostle Paul is writing about the end times and the "man of lawlessness" (or Antichrist) who will deceive those who have rejected the truth.
Because these individuals willfully "refused to love the truth and so be saved" (2 Thessalonians 2:10, ESV), God ultimately gives them over to what they want. He removes His restraining grace, allowing them to fully believe the lies and false teachings they have chosen to embrace.
This is fascinating, YES! Wouldn't you think Christians would be more vigilant because of these prophecies? Instead, they seem to think the warnings apply to non-Christians. But I think: That's
not OUR STORY (speaking as a non-Christian, myself), it's theirs.
I get the impression that the Bible was actually written FOR Christians ABOUT Christians/Christianity, and how there are those among them who will uniquely faulter within their own belief system. So, the prophecy is self-fulfilling for those among them that 'don't get it' (true spiritual connection/nature) at a deeper level. Whereas, many people (of all kinds of beliefs and perspectives) could 'get it' at a deeper level... because divine energy is NATURALLY flowing all throughout all and is not limited to any particular belief system. But for those who think it is exclusive, they have set themselves up for a great fall... and the Bible is THEIR story and warning... no one else's.
How shocking it might be to discover divine nature flowing vibrantly throughout all when one might have thought it only existed under a certain name and appearance! But that makes absolutely NO SENSE!
[/size]However, I have made it abundantly clear over the years of posting on this forum, that what I believe America is experiencing is the reaping of the "necrotizing karma" from all of the death and destruction it has sown across the planet over the last seven or so decades in its imperialistic ventures in pursuit of oil and other resources.
_______
Very well could be! There could be so much at work... incredibly vast while incredibly simple... all aligning for balance and expansion on many levels.
I think a great 'sin' for Christians is believing they have a unique connection and access to what is divine -- and that actually sets up the most false and self-righteous among them to act out the worst parts of their own prophecies. Such delusion and deception is kind of dark. This may be what I was noticing as a child in the church: Some people were claiming unique goodness and 'salvation' compared to others, and it definitely didn't feel right, nor make sense.
