This is a link to Mother Pelican, a monthly environmental ethics/issues publication. The articles here are short, not peer reviewed. The editor Luisis is a member of the Ecoecetric Alliance, which irregularly puts out a publication The Ecological Citizen where the articles are MUCH longer, to academic standard, and peer reviewed. They will also not be religious while some in Mother Pelican might be (under10%)
I will notify when a new issue of The Ecological Citizen comes out, but since issues of this publication can be viewed even while still under construction (as articles, poems, art work, etc. added) you can look it up any time. Also to see back issues.
Again full disclosure -- I am a member of the Ecocentric Alliance. This is a "by invitation" sort of group, resumes submitted, etc. All members are environmental activists in addition to a connection with environmentalism as academics, via the arts, etc.

Re: Mother Pelican
https://pelicanweb.org/The patriarchal culture of control and domination is the root of all social and ecological violence. It corrupted the original unity of man and woman (cf. Genesis 3:16) and is now disrupting the harmony between humanity and the human habitat. Just as we are now aware that slavery and racism are moral evils, we must become aware that gender discrimination is a moral evil that must be eradicated if solidarity and sustainability are to be attained.
The need to reform patriarchal structures applies to both secular and religious institutions. Overcoming patriarchy is a "sign of the times" to the extent that it fosters authentic gender solidarity and nonviolence for the good of humanity and the glory of God. Given the enormous influence of religious traditions, it is especially critical for religious institutions to extirpate any semblance of male hegemony in matters of doctrine and religious practices.
You lost me already.
And I suspect you lose a lot more when you begin like this.

Re: Mother Pelican
Anybody who has seen pelicans eating pigeons in St James Park wouldn't really consider such ravenous beasts all that selfless. Kudos though for making a whole website dedicated to environmentalism that looks like it was knitted from discarded hemp and offcuts from a back sack and crack waxworks.ANCIENT SYMBOL
The vulning pelican is an ancient symbol of unconditional service. To be a "person for others" requires full awareness of the personal self and also requires sacrifice of the one who serves. The following excerpt from The Physiologus (the author is unknown, circa 4th century CE) captures this ideal:
Luckily for you, phyllo didn't get as far as the "knowledge taxonomy" section. Unfortunately for me, I did.

Re: Mother Pelican
Uh .. I expected comments on the articles rather than the religious symbolism of the editor and his artistic taste/abilities or lack thereof.
But if you want a pretty publication, The Ecological Citizen is for you. Mind the articles there to academic standard, but the artwork and poetry on the standard of say Orion (if you know that publication)

Re: Mother Pelican
Unfortunately a lot of these environmental groups create divisions, discredit themselves and distract from the main issues.
The issue is environment, not patriarchy and gender.
