Re: How Do You Know?
Knowing is for the individual, experience, and the understanding of bodily experience relative to its survival and well-being. This is the only source of meaning in the world. To a collective of individuals, it is experience and understanding their bodily experience relative to a common biology, and agreeing on its truth.Impenitent wrote: ↑Thu Sep 18, 2025 1:08 pm you don't...

Re: How Do You Know?
How do you know, is when you are just sure.
How you are sure is when you have the facts.
A fact is some thing proved true.
What is 'true' is just 'that', which is agreed with.
An 'irrefutable truth' is just 'that', which no one could refute.
If some thing can not be refuted, then 'that thing' is what is actually True, in Life.
And, how one knows, for sure, is when absolutely every one could agree and accept.
Now, how to find what is True, in Life, is done by just knowing, for sure, that 'that' could be agreed with, and accepted, by absolutely every one/thing.
And, how to find what is, actually, Right, in Life, is done in the exact same way, and by putting "one's" 'self' 'in to the shoes of others', as it is said and written.
What is actually 'True', in Life, is just 'that', which every one agrees with and accepts.
What is 'true', in Life, is just 'that', which only some agree with and accept.
What is morally 'Right', in Life, is just 'that', which every one agrees with and accepts, but only when one puts "them" 'self' in another's position, so to speak.
What is morally 'right', in Life, is just 'that', which only some agree with and accept.
And, as always if absolutely any one wants the actual Fact/s, for any of 'this', which will prove, once, and for all, what is actually, irrefutably, True, and Right, in Life, which everyone else could also know, for sure, thus without any doubt, then let 'us' begin to just have a Truly open and honest peaceful discussion, here.
How to know, for sure, and thus can not be refuted, is just done by 'seeing' from everyone else's perspective, as One. Once you human beings are also able to, and actually do, do 'this', then 'we' can, finally, then start moving towards living in peace and harmony all together, as One. Until 'then' you human beings will continue to be disconnected, in conflict, confused, misunderstanding each other/"yourselves", and so continue to 'not know', here.

Re: How Do You Know?
Attention is knowing by degree of knowing occuring only if there is attention.
We know by attention.
We know by attention.

We know by experience, the experience of the physical world that alters the state of our biology, the understanding of that experience is meaning, which is knowledge.
Re: How Do You Know?
Experience only occurs by degree of attention, experience is subject to attention. Attention forms experience by forming distinction.popeye1945 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 25, 2025 4:54 amWe know by experience, the experience of the physical world that alters the state of our biology, the understanding of that experience is meaning, which is knowledge.

Of course not because all that is is attention. What you thought experience was the end point?popeye1945 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 25, 2025 5:12 amWe are getting nowhere here. There are, as every educated person should know, two types of identity, the Arithmetic and Geometric, aka, Literal and Metaphorical, etc.
Now, if you had the intelligence to begin with, you would cite those who first laid it down, to the best of their ability, which people like Plato did, and he got it right. So, if you pose a question you believe has not been answered, that shows 1, you never studied or 2 you studied but did not get it.
As Plato said, the word is used in 2 ways, the perceptible and the intelligible. Lay that down first, and if you want to clarify what has already been historically done, for today's audience, at least try to do a passible job of it.

Re: How Do You Know?
My body senses what the outside world has done to it, and my understanding defines its significance in terms of subjective meaning. This biological process is the measure and the meaning of all things and is the only source of meaning in the world. This is knowing an apparent reality as a biological readout of the changes made to the body.Philosophy Now wrote: ↑Thu Sep 18, 2025 9:58 am by Rick Lewis

Re: How Do You Know?
There’s nothing outside the text.
Deconstructed discourse of course.
Any claim to know is a secondary reality upon not knowing. The mind unconsciously attaches to illusion rather than what’s real, because the real is the unnamed, and that makes no sense to the mind, as the mind prefers everything to have a name, so it superimposes knowledge via the imagination. These imagined things are Forms that are never permanent. You can dream something is eternal but that dream will eventually collapse back into pure Emptiness, which is so permanent and Eternal that you can't even think of it or imagine it because there is no form there.

And, this is, exactly, how 'knowing' True, and what is Right, in Life, is gained, and obtained.Impenitent wrote: ↑Thu Sep 18, 2025 1:08 pm you don't...
