Human beings have evolved with the wrong psychological operating system.
Human beings are destroying ourselves and this Earth because they have based their psche, their lives and their societies on thought, this inward conflict creates the outward conflicted word we live in , anger, geed, selfishness, fear, anxiety, frustration, sorrow ect ect , none of these things exist outside of human thought, we have created them.
We have evolved a psychological operating system that is based on a seperate self, an identity that is imaginary, constructed from our own history which we have formed into a mental construction we call ourself, this self is made of the past.....we are the past. This self is in opposition to everything around it because it is not reality, it can only accept being permenant and cannot accept the concept of death, so our lives become a psychological struggle against reality which is in a state of constant change, however much we believe we are winning this struggle we all ultimately lose because our achievements are based on the denial of the fact of physical death which in the end takes away everything.
So if we come to understand this then we have to find another way because thinking is destroying us , turning to philosophy is obviously just more thought, thinking up a political idealogy to create a utopia is again just more thought, turning to beleif in a God or saviour that has been invented by thought is also pointless, merely a projection within the same game of thought, beleif itself is a creation of thought that needs to populate a self with thinhgs it can hold on to. So we will see that in whatever direction we turn every path we can take is the movement of thought and this leads to the fact that we cannot do anything about this , any attempt to control thought IS thought. We have now come to a standstill where thought is of no more use, this IS the ending of thought as our psychological operating system. This is thought finding its right place, of course we need thought for practicle purposes to function in daily life but we do not need to base our life on it, if we do our lives will be destroyed by the illusions it creates and ultimately as is already happening (according to science) this planet will be destroyed for human life. Which is only important to humans, nothing else cares if we cease to exist, only the self beleives its own importance.
What happens if we cease to use thought as our psychological operating system ? We do not turn into vegetables or become zombies, in fact our awareness is no longer blotted out by constant thoughts and we start to much more deeply become aware of the world around us, we can see that as we grew up thought dominated everything until we were living in a world cut off from reality completely controlled by thought. We live the same life but with all things as they are, we are no longer struggling to make all things as we want them to be and consumed by anger and frustration when they are not. ,they never were and never could be anyway.
Because the motives and concepts of all the psychological things that affect us such as fear, greed, anxiety, lonliness, depression, sorrow, anger ect all exist within the realm of thought, in the space where thought is not none of these things exist. They only exist if we let thought create them, we could call this mind without thought the "empty mind" , in this mind none of these things which cause our psychological suffering exist, there is only reality, we only see reality directly without the prism of thought deciding what suits us as a seperate self, this self is an illusion so is never in tune with reality. Naturally the person running on the operating system of thought will regard this as a dangerous fantasy, they have accepted a life of suffering and built a psychological structure around it as a seperate self that must be protected at all costs. They haven't suffered enough yet to want to find a way out of the trap and will argue against it to prevent ever having to face up to it.
This self constructed by thought is the cause of all your psychological suffering, it is the most valuable thing to you and you do not want to give it up under any circumstances.
You are causing your own psyclogical suffering and philosophy cannot help you.

I see that acknowledging and understanding human differentiation is key to fixing the current human condition.

Are you are saying instincts are somehow seperate from thought ?
There are no instincts seperate from thought, there is only thought .

You don't deserve any further comments. Go back to school, take a few psychology classes, then come back, prepared!Waterworks wrote: ↑Wed Nov 05, 2025 7:32 pm Are you are saying instincts are somehow seperate from thought ?

All humans are driven by a biological teleonomic to survive at all costs till the inevitable.
While the initial phases were primal instincts, humans has evolved with the later function of self-awareness. Like every human function it has its pros [good] and cons [of extreme evil].
However, in driving towards its teleonomy, there is a trend of pros over its cons.
Read: Steven Pinker
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Bette ... Our_Nature
The Better Angels of Our Nature: Why Violence Has Declined is a 2011 book by Steven Pinker, in which the author argues that violence in the world has declined both in the long run and in the short run and suggests explanations as to why this has occurred.
The reason is while self-awareness can lead to terrible evil, humans has also evolved with an inherent moral function which was very inactive but it is slowly unfolding as evident with Pinker's 'Better Angels'. The duty of humans is to expedite the unfolding of this moral function effectively.
Humans are also evolving with an trend of an exponential expansion of knowledge and technology [with pros and cons] but has the potential to save the human species from terrible catastrophe and from the threat of a rogue asteroid that could send Earth into smithereens.
The present terrible evils that are happening at present and the past is nothing compared to such existential dangers of the extermination of the human species.
Your thinking is too shallow and narrow.

So the wrong psychological operating system led you to say/conclude this?

Oh dear, then you have no idea how instincts might operate. I'll use one of the few human instincts we know about (discovered while I was at uni at my uni -- one of the student work opportunities was taking part in the work).Waterworks wrote: ↑Wed Nov 05, 2025 7:32 pm Are you are saying instincts are somehow seperate from thought ?
There are no instincts seperate from thought, there is only thought .
You might (or might not) have noticed that you KNOW (when encountering somebody) "that person knows me". Usually you notice this when you do NOT recognize that person (who IS that person, they seem to know me). But how did you know "that person knows me". Because he or she flashed the "recognition signal". It is something you are doing too, though you are not conscious of doing so. It is a very fast "eyebrow flicker". You might not even be able to do it voluntarily!
NO THOUGHT. You do not think, I know that person, make the signal. You do not think, that person flickered his or her eyebrow, must know me. You don't SEE it as an eyebrow flicker, you just KNOW (that person knows me).
If something makes you feel good and comfortable are you going to THINK about why you are doing it or just do it. You might not even be aware of doing anything, just adjusting to be more comfortable, If I asked you to think about "why did you make some body adjustment that made you more comfortable" you'd think I was crazy (asking for a "why")
<< if you want to know how identified, lots of people spending many hours looking at images of just a couple square inches of a person's face during interaction. That took it out of the context of something happening on a person's face. Although in that sort of research, looking at more than faces.>> .

“ There is no conflict in you, the Self. If there is conflict, it is between thought and thought. As long as the sense of 'I' and 'other' is believed, conflict is inevitable. “

"this inward conflict creates the outward conflicted word we live in , anger, greed, selfishness, fear, anxiety, frustration, sorrow ect"
These things might only be considered bad if you are expecting life to be capable of something other than this. If you aren't, then our 'operating systems' might be doing quite well given the irreducibly hostile Machiavellian nature of life. Eat or be eaten. If that's the way it is, all that greed and selfishness is a virtue, no?
People are generally divided into the naive group that thinks everything is going great, and the bad guys who know everything isn't but pretend to be moral and concerned with what is ethical all the while.
I would place you in the first group. It looks like you genuinely believe life is great (as something more than just a passing opportunity to experience various pleasures and then vanish forever when you die).
I do agree that life could be better and those things you mention could be mitigated (through Marxism)... but none of that is gonna happen. Any other philosophical formula for world peace and happier living is just hot air and a waste of reading time.
