The only male/female relationship of any interest and worth discussing would be that of a Mickey and Mallory or a Bonnie and Clyde.

The rest are as interesting and eventful as a mated pair of monkeys that will fall slowly out of love and end up staying together only for business reasons, e.g., raising kids, combining incomes, etc. They become more like cell mates than lovers.

We need a dating app for anarchists so we can witness true love happening. Not some scripted cookie-cutter bullshit mortgage take the kids to the soccer game and church on sunday nonsense. A life like that is too small, too easy to be interesting. Frankly, who cares about today's modern relationships at all unless its to examine how mediocre and disfunctional they are.

The evolution story said love is the trick to get mating pairs to reproduce. That’s all life cares about, it cares only to live, not love.

And the human being called it love.

All that pointless meaningless effort just to ensure the pushing out of a screaming sprog.

I can make up millions of stories about romantic love between the two sexes, and all the other made up sexes.

But ultimately, every one is selfish. The only way to not be selfish is to be selfless. But no one seems to want to be without a self.

It’s a fool’s paradise being alive, no one wins, everyone will lose, lose everything. And this two player game will go on infinitely for eternity. It’s a trap and we’re all caught up in it.

Yeah, reproduction that isn't asexual results from chemical attractors acting on cells. Higher organisms with nervous systems have brains wired to reward for responding to chemical attractors. This is when "love" becomes an expression of ego; when an organism with self-awareness can anticipate some pleasure from some reward and so is motivated to attain it.

All the Platonic stuff is after this fact and incidental. Eros, agape, duddint matter. It's all purposed to attain the object of pleasure and reward.
