Infinity is Death

Post by Fairy »

Death as surrender to the infinite..

"Fear of death is fear of surrender to Infinity... Learn to surrender, to exist at Infinity while alive, and fear of death dissolves" (Adi Da Samraj).

"Death is not an event in life: we do not live to experience death. If we take eternity to mean not infinite temporal duration but timelessness, then eternal life belongs to those who live in the present" (Søren Kierkegaard).

Death as part of the infinite whole
"Infinity, beginnings, ends, life, death are all parts of the same reality, are just made-up useful concepts, and don't exist in isolation" (Anes Hasicic).

"Only a fraction of the Whole can pass away in any moment, since only a fraction of the Whole appears in any moment. Therefore, the Heart Itself is always already Full of Wonder and Love" (Adi Da Samraj).

The unfettered mind and the end of fear
"The unquestioned mind, believing what it thinks, lives in dead ends—frustrated, hopeless, forever trying to find a way out, only to experience another dead end... That's how the unquestioned mind has to live" (Byron Katie).

"Don't be afraid of death; be afraid of an unlived life. Death is always at our side. When we show fear, it jumps at us faster than light, but if we do not show fear, it casts its eye upon us gently and then guides us into infinity…"

Death is the last limit of all things.

I am the first and the last idiot.

The alpha and the omega.

Garbage in garbage out.

The Vedantic understanding is that death is an illusion. The argument is as follows:

You can consider that consciousness is like an ocean and my awareness and your awareness are waves of that ocean. You and I have no existence that is in any way distinct from the ocean of consciousness. Rather than being separate objects we are a process of the ocean itself; we rise from it and fall back into it and at no time is it possible for us to be separated from it any more than you can separate a wave from the ocean itself except conceptually.

Thus you and I are not separate individuals who were born and will die. That is an illusion created by the ocean itself, being conscious throughout, each wave can observe each other wave as if there were two separate consciousnesses observing each other.

Though you were never born, the process that you recognise as your subjective experience, did have a beginning and will certainly end, but in truth you never were separate from the whole except as an idea of who and what you are that misleads you to believe so.
