Are you suggesting that just because some random dude on YouTube did some research and pointed out something shady going on behind the scenes of Wiki's uploading and editing procedures, means that the information in Wiki's estimated 7 million (English) articles is nothing more than distortions or flat-out lies that serve the agenda of who? - lefties? Or perhaps some mysterious cabal of wealthy elites?
You used Wiki to pull up prejudiced outlook on Torba.
Nonsense!
You quoted Andrew Torba and I simply Googled his name because I had never heard of him, and thus the Wiki article regarding his founding of "Gab" was one of the first things that popped up. To which you then (straight out of the hypocrite's handbook) proceeded to cast aspersions on the reliability of any information uploaded to Wiki even though you yourself had recently used Wiki to support a point you were making to Belinda.
Man, I get so tired of hearing the words coming from the likes of the Andrew Torbas and the Charlie Kirks of the world who are completely oblivious of their own blind and ignorant hypocrisy.
The following is an excerpt from a speech that Andrew Torba gave at the
“America First Political Action Conference” (AFPAC) - which is an annual white nationalist and far-right political gathering (emphasis mine):
“...Jesus did not command us to sit around getting crushed by Satan, waiting to die. He commanded us to make disciples of all nations, and we need to take dominion in his name. His kingdom may be in heaven, but he himself told us in Mathew 28:18 that he has all authority on Earth as well.
You know what, it's time to start acting like it.
So often we are called hateful by people who hate our lord and savior. So, to them I say yes I am hateful – I hate sin, I hate evil, I hate Satan, and I hate the Antichrist!...”
Yet,...
(and here comes the blind and ignorant hypocrisy part)
...Andrew Torba is a "fervent" supporter of a person who may very well be the freakin’ Antichrist in the flesh (or, at the very least, a person who represents the very antithesis of what Christ allegedly preached).
Indeed, according to
Google’s AI Mode (emphasis mine):
Andrew Torba is a supporter of Donald Trump and launched the social media platform Gab in 2016 in response to what he saw as "censorship" of conservative and pro-Trump ideas on mainstream social media. His support for Trump's political movement has been widely reported since the platform's founding.
Key facts about Torba's support for Trump:
- A "fervent" Trump supporter: A lawsuit filed against Gab in 2018 described Torba as a "fervent" supporter of Trump, and he was reportedly banned from the startup incubator Y Combinator over his pro-Trump behavior on Facebook.
Welcomed Trump supporters to Gab: In the wake of Trump's ban from Twitter in January 2021, Torba issued a statement saying he was connecting with Trump's team and that the former president's Gab account was reserved. He framed the moment as one Gab had been preparing for, attracting a swell of Trump backers to the platform.
Promoted misinformation about the 2020 election: The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) reports that Torba has frequently posted content supporting the January 6, 2021, insurrection and promoted the false claim that the 2020 election was rigged.
Yeah, yeah, I know, Torba may only be a Trump supporter because he (like many other white Christian nationalists) believes that it’s okay to support Trump because the
“Lord” may simply be using Trump to restore America to its former
segregated glory.
We're talking about a glorious time in which the roles and status of black, brown, red, and yellow races (and let's not forget women) were clearly delineated as being lesser than (and subordinate to) white (Christian) males.
However, the problem is that the blind and hateful ignorance of these so-called "Christians," won't allow them to entertain a more likely scenario that the
“Lord is using Trump” to usher-in the
“necrotizing karma” that America has been accruing and is destined to reap from the process of sowing death and destruction across the planet through its greedy, imperialistic outreach over the last seven or so decades.
Now I have no doubt that your heart is in the right place, Alexis, in that you are only suggesting ways that you personally believe will help to ameliorate the internal problems that many nations (especially England and America) are currently experiencing.
However,
only a fool would believe that humans partitioning themselves off from one another...
(i.e., drawing the wagons into defensive circles based on race, nationality, ethnicity, religion, political ideology, etc., etc.)
...is the solution.
Indeed, that’s what has gotten us into this mess to begin with in that our historically partitioned tribes, along with their incompatible belief systems, are now butting heads in this new global setting.
You mockingly accused me of offering
“...hippy-dippy...” solutions in the form of
“...ridiculous misplaced idealism...”
However, I strongly suggest that a new unifying vision of reality (a new
“material/spiritual paradigm”) is precisely what the world needs.
For even though the new idealistic vision of reality that I have been promoting may be unprovable, it can at least...
(just like the Platonic ideals are symbols of perfection)
...function as a kind of
“North Star” that everyone on the ground can use to guide them in the right direction.
And the
“right direction” is one that points to the irrefutable fact that our souls are all identical to one another, not only in form, but in eternal purpose,...
...and that if these white Christian nationalist rabble rousers are too dumb to understand that we need to find a way to work
together for the good and prosperity of
all humans on Earth,...
…then it is their low conscious bigotry and hypocrisy that will forever continue to foment this problem we are currently faced with.
