Yes...but it goes deeper. Fear of annihilation of identity.

'I' do not fear any so-called 'death'.

Unconditional love, is the truth of what?
The truth of Absolute Selfless Love running through the very fabric of Infinite Consciousness.

"Fear is the false idea that we are a separate self. That second one dives deep into the great mystery. I have a thread on the board that states you are not an individual; you might want to contribute.
Was that some kind of satirical joke?

The above is absolute nonsense; you must be very young and fed romantic nonsense as a steady diet.

Okay, that’s absolutely fine.

I don’t oppose your comments, they are your own opinion which you are more than entitled to have personally.

I can only express myself the way I see and understand it here. There’s absolutely no obligation for anyone else to understand what I understand. I’m merely sharing my personal insights.

Unconditional love obliterates identity for in unconditional love there is no seperation, people fear unconditional love for this reason.

People hate God when they elevate themselves to idols for the idolization of the self is seperation from the self and existence.

In these cases, and perhaps for us all, death is deliverance and an escape from a horrible reality. The fear of death can be overcome by courage and/or pain and death's inevitability, as a pattern that can no longer maintain itself, and it is ultimately given the gift of release. There is an overcoming that solidifies my point. All fear is the fear of death until it is overcome by suffering, pain, and resignation.
Which is another way of saying: some fears aren't of death.
Expand on that, please. Are you implying that resignation is somehow a greater fear? Please clarify.
As you said, death is commonly feared, but can transition from a feared negative to a desired positive ("the gift of release" from pain and suffering). At that point, any fear would be the fear of prolonged life ie the fear of NOT death.

Excellent point, but that is an end-of-life experience, as acceptance and redemption at the end of a long journey.

Then why subject more subjects to experience pain and suffering by reproducing offspring?
Is it because the pain and suffering is worth the experience, and not to be feared because death is the relief that awaits all those who suffer pain and suffering? Seems to me that no one actually cares about pain and suffering, least of all the fear death.

To frame it as fear of the unknown/unfamiliar/uncomprehended seems more reasonable:
Fear of death belongs to the above.
Transphobia belongs to the above, but is a really awkward fit for fear of death.

As an aside, fear of the unknown/unfamiliar/uncomprehended also seems to be the crux for the irrationality of conservatives in general. For example: Fear of science, fear of social programs, fear of the LGBT community, fear of those from other cultures, fear of those from other races, etc. The list goes on and on.
Very well said.

You’ve got it all wrong. Fear of anything is a manifestation of the pain/pleasure principle, I.e. fear of the discomfort of the unknown or the misunderstood. Fear is of course a survival mechanism as is the avoidance of pain and unpleasant experiences. The fact that bravery can push fear aside changes nothing.

All fear is derivative of the pain v. pleasure principle.

Why? Because of the relative timing of childbirth vs debilitating illness for the vast majority, perhaps. Also you may have noticed the intense physical positivity associated with initiating the childbirth process. Most "decisions" in life, aren't, in fact conscious decisions.

Pain, pleasure, illness, and old age are conditions in the processes of life. The fear of death is the fear of non-existence, the fear of the unknown, the end of an entity that never really was, the essence of what you are, Richard Dawkins' "The Selfish Gene>", Information and patterns, which, relative to what you think you are, is relatively immortal. Pleasure is life-affirming, while pain, illness, and old age are reminders of one's temporality. When I say that you are an entity, a thing that never quite exists. The question to ask is then, when does a condition become a thing, and the answer is, the thing is a condition, and all conditions are temporal.

I don’t get what you mean.

I’m talking about no one seems to care about dying, pain and suffering. People accept dying and all the pain and suffering that comes with being sentient. Nobody is consciously choosing not to bring new people into being.

Although I have heard recently the population in Greece is rapidly on the decline. Also Japan. But that’s more to do with the current extortionate rising cost of living more than anything else. Nobody seems to be aware enough to think about things like what quality of life is in store for every newborn. No one seems to care about others, no one ever consented to being born. The responsibility lies in the conscious choosing of the people who deliberately create new life.

Fear then, is just another stupid irrelevant man made concept. It doesn’t actually exist outside of human language.

There’s simply survival instinct that’s all.
