On the one hand the odds of you meeting a soul mate on 14 miles of road are much better than in your front room, plus you free up your front room to put something sensible in there - like a bar.

Re: Soul Mate
Actually,, my life quote on the issue is Biblical, A woman is the Life of Man. Unfortunately, all the ones I married turned it into, "A bitch is the death of man."
Personally, I have never chased a woman in my life, I just let them have what they wanted, until they simply wanted something else.

PS, while growing up, I built most of my own bikes out of what others tossed away. And, I do not drink. I did once, I even drank all of one of my father in laws bar after he got transferred to Singapore. I stayed buzzed for about a whole week on it.Will Bouwman wrote: ↑Sat Aug 16, 2025 4:35 pmHave you considered buying an actual bike? It's win win. you must be a real dumb-shit to think that fucking up your head is a sensible thing to do.
Re: Soul Mate

Re: Soul Mate
I have met quite a few working in various work places over the years. But never one online, even though having posted continuously since 1986.

It was a question. What’s so offensive about a simple question?Fairy wrote: ↑Sat Aug 16, 2025 6:42 amThat’s rich coming from someone like you.Immanuel Can wrote: ↑Sat Aug 16, 2025 1:00 amWho promised you would have a "soul mate"? Do you know whether or not you even have a "soul" to have a "mate"?
Or did you only mean to use it as a kind of idiom for "somebody I really like a lot"? In which case, the first problem still applies: who told you that in life, you were entitled to expect to find such a person?
Re: Soul Mate
Why such a negative reactionary response to someone asking you the question (Is God your soulmate IC?)Immanuel Can wrote: ↑Sun Aug 17, 2025 2:46 pmIt was a question. Re: Soul Mate
An excellent question, not at all offensive.

Biker and bike. Man and machine. Soul mates. The future of humanity. Interesting.
Soul Mates, suggests a purity of connection that joins two entities into a third, complete entity.
Purity of connections are found in the young, and in sinners washed clean.
Respecting another’s autonomy is the test of a soul-mate setup.
Because soul mates suggest the yin and yang forming a third complete entity (usually illustrated by a curvy ball of contrasting shades), or the Shiva/Shakti of human nature forming a third complete entity (the balance of testosterone and estrogen effects upon the biology of an energetically and emotionally balanced human), one must also consider master/slave relationships that have existed for all of history, as also forming a complete entity, each of the personality predelictions incomplete without the other. That relationship takes a variety of forms … wage slave, fame slave, language slave, sado-masochism, etc., each needing the other, if not at first then after familiarity of the relationship sets in.
Keyword: Attachment.

However, I don’t think folks mean master/slave when speaking of soul mates.
That's a big negative on the ideal.
Folks usually have more of a romance-novel concept about Soul Mate. Maybe Disney made the promise with the notion, subliminally planted in innocent little minds, that one kiss can awaken Beauty and create the third entity of souls mating, which is the realm of Happily Ever After (for the future of humanity), presented in a nice way for a child's sensibilities ... as opposed to some public library presentations for the little children.
Machine and Man. Master/slave?

It wasn’t. It was a query about the assumption required by the OP. It was perfectly legit, and on-point. You’re being much too thin-skinned. Chill out.Fairy wrote: ↑Sun Aug 17, 2025 3:44 pmWhy such a negative reactionary response to someone asking you the questionImmanuel Can wrote: ↑Sun Aug 17, 2025 2:46 pmIt was a question. You assumed you’d asked an offensive question in your response to my legit question to you that you haven’t bothered to answer, and that’s your prerogative to not bother.Immanuel Can wrote: ↑Mon Aug 18, 2025 2:14 pmIt wasn’t. You also assumed the soulmate reference was about a likeable person which was wrong, because the reference was perfectly clear that it was about an inanimate object without a pulse, just like your soulmate God is.

And you’re being too arseholy. Why don’t you take your own arseholy advice and chill out yourself ass u me.
Re: Soul Mate
Well, I got both JOROTO X4S's in the basement and assembled. They are heavy. One for me and one for the girl that lives with me.
Schwinn makes the IC4, built on the same idea, manually set resistance and cheaper made for about 300$ more.
I did order a new servo motor for my Schwinn 130 to get that back running again, but if the servo goes out again, I may convert it to manual adjustment with my own cable setup from an ordinary bike. I like having a spare in the front room with my computers.
My legs are responding well to a 3 mile walk followed by a 14 mile ride.
Soul Mate.
I got in 2 4tb hard drives for my puter, but I will wait for the the docking station to come in before I copy the drives I am swapping out.
