I don't see how that response relates to the question. This isn't the opinion forum, this is the philosophy forum. If you have reasons for why you don't consider it art, philosophy isn't just saying your opinion that it's not art silly goose, it's talking about what your reasons are, putting them out there.
Everyone else is talking about their reasons. They all get it.

When I give my reasons, I give others ideas that they otherwise would not have had, is why.

They are special secret reasons that you aren't cool enough to know about. And you can't know about the secret Canadian girlfriend you've never met because she goes to another school either.

I really don't like that as a defintion of art. Where does it come from?
Some wines are considered to be works of art; Some chess games are considered to be works of art.
By what standard should they be judged?
My response to the OP was an attempt to see if anyone was willing to bring something more to the table than spouting simplistic opinions based on a superficial understanding of what "art" is and is not. My response to your post was an attempt to prompt a higher level of thought than "I really don't like that as a definition of art. Where does it come from?". More's the pity.

You made up the definition off the top of your head, put it in quote block to make it look important even though it was facile, and now you are covering up?ThinkOfOne wrote: ↑Fri Jul 11, 2025 9:19 pmI understood your question.FlashDangerpants wrote: ↑Fri Jul 11, 2025 2:49 amI don't see how that response relates to the question. You've remained true to form by spouting yet another simplistic opinion based on a superficial understanding. Why are you content with operating on such a level?FlashDangerpants wrote: ↑Fri Jul 11, 2025 9:21 pmYou made up the definition off the top of your head, put it in quote block to make it look important even though it was facile, and now you are covering up?ThinkOfOne wrote: ↑Fri Jul 11, 2025 9:19 pmI understood your question.FlashDangerpants wrote: ↑Fri Jul 11, 2025 2:49 am

Re: Do AI Image generators create "Art"?
How does that work to define anything? I'm having difficulty finding this useful definition useful for defining. Surely science demonstrates an understanding of a subject, yet science is not art.ThinkOfOne wrote: ↑Tue Jul 08, 2025 8:51 pm Depends on the definition of "art". The following is a definition that I've found useful:
"Art" is a demonstration of an extremely deep level of understanding of a subject. The deeper the subject and the deeper the demonstration of understanding of the subject, the more superior the work of art. The deeper the understanding that you have, the greater the appreciation you can have for the work of art.
Please answer the question without resorting to childish insults.
