How does science work? And what's all this about quantum mechanics?

Ghost Particles

When the Higgs boson appeared at the LHC in 2012, where did it come from? Then, when it disappeared, where did it go? I wonder the same thing for all of these hard to isolate and figure out particles.

The Higgs boson is indeed associated with the Higgs field, which is responsible for giving mass
to fundamental particles like electrons and quarks. However, it's important to understand that
the Higgs boson itself is not "giving" the mass; it's the Higgs field that does so through
its interaction with these particles. /Wikipedia/
Electrons (fermions) do not need Higgs bosons/fields to have mass.
Electrons (fermions) have mass thanks to their own, internal "spin"

It doesn't come from anywhere nor travel somewhere , it emerges briefly as a result of high energy collisions . And then decays quickly into other particles.
More elementary particles share this nature.
The fascinating part is to understand all the quantum dancing

Exactly. THE one and only Higgs boson. It's as particular as Jesus isn't it?

Where did it go! 🤔 hmm, probably the same place all thoughts come from and go to.

Utter ghost town.

It blew my “mind”when I realised “thought” is an interpretation and not actual. 🤯
