Loved this back in the day but for some reason always remember it as 'gasoline'.

sorry, I missed it-promethean75 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 29, 2025 5:09 pm Damn not even Imp gave me a like. Does he not start with the affirmation of man?
Montdrummery Studios; the only channel on youtube where shorts with over one thousand views have only two likes.
p.s. you can't like it now because it would be contrived, disingenuous, like giving alms to a beggar only to prolong his misery the next day.

Why did you like it? Never be the first one to like somebody's short, Imp, because then it looks like the guy liked his own short.
Wait, no, now you can't unlike it because it'll look like somebody had second thoughts about it... and this may influence other viewer's opinion of the short when they see it.
A fine mess you've got us in, Imp. Now I have to like my own short (making it two likes) so it won't look like I liked my own short.

I didn't like it, I thought it was smashing, but that wasn't an option...promethean75 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 30, 2025 5:45 pm Why did you like it? Never be the first one to like somebody's short, Imp, because then it looks like the guy liked his own short.

Great observation! Bonham's groove during The Lemon Song is absolute magic—raw, deep, and completely in the pocket. His footwork is unmatched, balancing power and subtlety in a way only a few can reproduce. That break absolutely illustrates feel over form. Timeless drumming at its absolute best!promethean75 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 01, 2024 5:23 pm "Now take it down a little bit"

For you Zep fans, here's a sample at the secret but famous Bonham foot drum work. He and Jones are about to go in right after that fast middle break in The Lemon Song. How a bloke from Worcestershire can feel the blues like that is a mystery. British drummers don't get dirty and in the pocket like that. The Stones, the bloody Beatles, Black Sabbath even. All formal by the queen 4/4 rock chops.
I hold Bonham for a second, but then he gets away from me. This is the cream right here. Nobody is watching the vids i see because you are all too intellectual but if you are going to listen to a jam, this break in The Lemon Song is untimely and eternal.

_______
This album...
"Caribbean Escape"...

...by "Thomas Morton" (real name Thomas A. Braund), was recorded at my studio back in 1987.
I played the marimba on the Yamaha DX7 on the title song, along with various percussion instruments throughout the album, plus lead guitar on one of the longer tunes.
Unfortunately, Thomas died a few years later during a walk on a beach in Florida.
Also unfortunately, the wonderfully talented keyboard player (Robert Van Stee), and the super talented sax player (Wilton Machen) have also passed away since then.
As an interesting sidenote,...
...some guy out of the blue (a person not living in the U.S. where I live), tracked me down a few years ago (in '21) and offered me $400.00 for my two personal copies of the LP and one cassette. I did not part with my keepsakes.
Here's the profile of the album on the site called "Discogs"...

'Red' by Jesse Welles

closing lyrics wrote:
When the king's cut friend and foe
And every nation knows his wrath
When he's dead in twenty years
We'll be here and they'll be back
When we're all hung out to dry
By our savior technocrats
It won't matter if you're neocon
Or MAGA Democrat
When the war gets here
We're all gonna hold hands
All the Baptists and the Catholics
All the Marxists and the Fascists
When the war gets here
We're all gonna get on the level
Everyone looks a little bit nicer
When you finally meet the devil
Re: Music
I wonder if they still play this in meth-addicted flyover country, to sneer at irony.
Crank it up.
