As a Pagan, I prefer to take my inspiration from nature, and this has very little to do with words, and everything to do with emotions. But that's just me, of course. Each to their own, and all that.
Stoicism is its own reward isn't it Maia? “A physician is not angry at the intemperance of a mad patient; nor does he take it ill to be railed at by a man in a fever. Just so should a wise man treat all mankind, as a physician does his patient; and looking upon them only as sick and extravagant.” the superb Seneca. And there is a God! Even in Birmingham! They emptied yer bin!
Yes, even in this benighted place, the Goddess can occasionally still manifest.

Actually, overall, I quite like it here. It is my home, after all. Did you know that there are more trees in Birmingham, per person, than any other city in Europe? Or something like that, anyway.
Love Brum. Worked there. Love the accent. More trees than Paris, more canals the Venice. One hails from Royal Leamington Spa. A beautifully superficial town. Where there's brass, there's muck.

I once bought a place in the UP, in virgin forest. A spring of water originated out of the ground on it, forming a stream. I was going to retire there, but it was taken. along with everything else. Someday people will realize, they can never own a thing among corrupt people and government.

Yes, definitely more canals than Venice. And probably nicer, too. They're good for going on long walks along the towpath, away from cars.

Where did you work?

From my perspective, it was a horror story. This is no place to dream.

Seventeen acres, I use to dream of building, of living, but instead, I got something else.

Long story short, I got charged more than I earned, every week I worked. And will be paying for working, the rest of my life. People do not realize that spousal support means a person is entitle to what they have not earned so the state is justified in enslaving anybody they like. And there is imputed income, what they think you are worth, not what you earn.

Imputed income is not income but that is not how the corrupt government plays it.

So if I worked one week of overtime, my worth is overtime for every week, overtime or not.

Sounds awful, sorry to hear that it didn't work out.

No, people are not sorry. A long time ago, some guy said that if what happened to me, happened to him, he would have killed himself. They can take my money, they cannot take my soul.

The only thing that bothers me, do I have what it takes, to complete what I need to do in life.

We are made to work, so happy is the man who has a job to do.

Do you ever stop complaining? You give Gary a run for his money in the miseryguts department.

The Delian problem.

If it was given by the gods, it had a solution.
If it was not given by the gods it had no solution, but that makes it perfect for learning, you do not have to quit trying. You just keep on learning.

Well, yes. That's the best sort of attitude to have.

AS i was saying above, Impossible problems are really a win win situation. People generally disagree with that. That is a miserable state.
I was happy I solved the problem for about 5 min. It meant that I had to find another.
