She crossed a lot of people
Some she called friends
She thought she'd live forever
But forever always ends
Did she jump or was she pushed?
[Sandy Denny, most presume]
Richard and Linda Thompson
Did She Jump Or Was She Pushed

_______
Every once in a while, I come across a song on YouTube that was recorded at my little 16 track analog studio back in the 80s.
This one is called "Lite Up the Stereo" by a band called "Invisible Ink"...

It's the third night and the walls are shaking
Boys buying boys
Pleasure bringing pain, it's all the same
I put my hand near my mouth so I know I'm still breathing
So we joke about the TV set
Calling it the "eye of Hell"
I would love to have people see what I see
I would love to be a pillar of strength in my community
A little order, a little grace
Something new to fill up this place

Re: What music are you listening to?
A prima donna slipped into her leather
But she was restless, she knew it in her heart of hearts
She said, "Tonight you'd better pull yourself together
Because tonight I'm gonna pull myself apart"
Out on the streets, everyone is searchin' for a thrill
But she's the only one that's out there really dressed to kill
And she said, "Listen to me, it's not a tragedy
This time I'm gettin' through and now there's something you can do for me
Take me to the wild places"

Re: What music are you listening to?
I am listening to some of the various artist, who recorded Last Night I had the Strangest Dream. It was written in the year I was born. For me, it is very emotional.
Johnny Cash, Joan Baez, Simon and Garfunkel, Brothers Four, Bob Dylan, Pete Seeger, etc.

Terry sat up
And hugged the green army surplus bag
Around his skinny waist
It was cold
And the person beside him had faded badly
Legs apart his eyes lit up
The sky's gone out
The sky, the sky
The sky's gone out
bauhaus
Exquisite Corpse

Re: What music are you listening to?
Tarzan wasn't a ladies man
He'd just come along and scoop 'em
Up under his arm like that
Quick as a cat, in the jungle
Clark Kent, now there was a real gent
He would not be caught sittin' around in no jungle scape
Dumb as an ape, doin' nothing
Superman never made any money
Savin' the world from Solomon Grundy
And sometimes I despair
The world will never see another man like him
Hey Bob, Supe had a straight job
Even though he coulda smashed through
Any bank in the United States
He had the strength but he would not
Folks said his family were all dead
Planet crumbled, but Superman he forced himself
To carry on, forget Krypton, and keep goin'
Superman never made any money
Savin' the world from Solomon Grundy
And sometimes I despair
The world will never see another man like him
Tarzan was king of the jungle
And lord over all the apes
But he could hardly string together
Four words, I Tarzan you Jane
Sometimes when Supe was stoppin' crimes
I'll bet that he was tempted to just quit
And turn his back on man
Join Tarzan in the forest
But he stayed in the city
Kept on changin' clothes
In dirty old phone booths 'til his work was through
Had nothin' to do but go on home
Superman never made any money
Savin' the world from Solomon Grundy
And sometimes I despair
The world will never see another man like him
And sometimes I despair
The world will never see another man like him
