True story...
Once, waaaay back when I was in the army and given guard duty - the 2-4, 'German number,' as they called it because it was so harsh - I saw lights flashing in the middle of the night, as I stood at my post.
The guard post was next to a cemetery, and the lights would flash on the tombstones and then, just as suddenly, it would disappear
I was young, but I was not stupid.
I didn't freak out....I had to solve the mystery.
And I did.
After scanning and waiting and watching for a few minutes I realized that off in the distance there was a road, with a severe turn, on the mountainside. So far that the sound did not reach me.
Cars would turn, their lights striking the tombstones, and then as they completed the turn the lights would disappeared.

Another time the superstitious folk had a story about ghosts appearing in an abandoned house....
I use do pass this house every time I went to my friend's house. I was 8 or something.
I usually passed during the day, but one time I had overstayed and it got dark, when I had to pass by that 'haunted house.'
I was curious... I investigated...after seeing something moving in one of its windows.
I realized it was a torn curtain, from when someone had lived there.

Then I started visiting graveyards at night, waiting for something to appear....anything.
It never did...to me.
But others had all sort of amazing stories to tell.
