Why Do the Religious Reject Science While Embracing the Impossible?

How should society be organised, if at all?

She's a determinist, Ben. She hasn't reconciled: she's a full-blown, card-carryin', member of Mike's church.
I anticipate it's Mike speaking against anyone else that wants to throw a punch.
Mike threw the first punch, in multiple threads. He set the stage. We, who oppose him, we're supposed to extend the olive branch? Reach across the aisle? Open a dialogue? Compromise?

Hell no.

I was speaking to the dishonest tactic of representing this conversation as equally balanced in terms of members per side of the 'debate'.
I expect this wont be the last point you'll miss, caveman.

Ben JS wrote: Sat Apr 12, 2025 12:09 am So this 'even' stage you seem to describe, is likely nothing of the sort.

I anticipate it's Mike speaking against anyone else that wants to throw a punch.

Sounds more like trap, than a stage.

Which is very fitting for what I expect of you.

“Won’t engage upon my trap? That's evidence for my claims.”

Though you won’t research if there are already academic responses to your arguments.

What are those worth, right?

Don't appear of any interest to you.
What in the Name of Heaven are you on about?
Don't expect a response from me.
I recently got two 4 figure ($) PayPal donations from a “Bjes”— who included a Latin quote:
Quia fecit mihi magna qui potens est.
I won’t say more. I was simply very thankful.

Try to have a bit of fun from time to time.

You must be German. I’ve cured many Germans, even really serious cases.

Great Crom on your mountain, Ben actually took all of this...

Seeds, Alexis and Henry Quirk descend on ropes from second and third story garrets onto the oily, garbage strewn battlefield. There is a pool of black blood from last week. Oh and look: the top half of an ear.

Caterwauling is heard. Thunder far off. A streetlight flickers.

The stage is set.
...seriously....and he was offended.

What makes you think Johann Sebastian Ben is German? It's possible, I guess, but only as an inferior version!

What is this weird 'speaking to' thing that Americans say? Is that like 'I COULD care less'? I saw a comment the other day where someone said something along the lines of 'When I was little i could wait for easter'. WTF? It makes no sense whatsover. Are their brains wired differently, or do they live in a parallel 'oppositeland' where everything is the opposite of the the way it is with normal people?
'I'm speaking to the mangling of the English language'. Now unless you know someone with the name 'The mangling of the English language' and someone is trying to interrupt a conversation you are having with him then that sentence is nonsensical.

Reading AJ, I get the impression that they didn't notify Latin America that the battle between the religious and the sane people was decided at least a century ago. Well at least in the more advanced parts of the world.
