Re: Stock market
Repeat it often enough and it becomes true. This is what sane people do, apparently.

Re: Stock market
This is still not the way things work. House prices plummeting is just as big a story as stock markets crashing. Always has been.accelafine wrote: ↑Tue Apr 08, 2025 11:28 pm Why is it considered such a bad thing when the stock market goes down but not when house prices plummet?
Quit the gaslighting.

Whatever that means, I don't care, I am not the story here...
That doesn't happen. You are making up this problem.accelafine wrote: ↑Tue Apr 08, 2025 11:28 pm Why is it considered such a bad thing when the stock market goes down but not when house prices plummet?

Re: Stock market
Your bond market went into collapse so Trump shat a brick and paused most of the tariffs. The subsequently reinvigorated market is currently hoping that Trump will see sense and give up on the trade war bullshit. They seem not to understand his psychology tbh.

Re: Stock market
Did I say it was a 'problem'? Are there ever world headlines when the housing market plummets? Think about it, genius. When the US stockmarket drops everyone shits their pants. I wouldn't have a clue what the US housing market is doing and don't care.FlashDangerpants wrote: ↑Wed Apr 09, 2025 11:46 pm Whatever that means, I don't care, I am not the story here...

Re: Stock market
1. Who considers this? (Not that you will ever answer and clarify.)accelafine wrote: ↑Tue Apr 08, 2025 11:28 pm Why is it considered such a bad thing when the stock market goes down but not when house prices plummet?
2. Because you will not clarify who are 'those' who, supposedly, consider 'this' means that actually no one even considers these at all.
And, where and when have house prices so-called 'plummeted', exactly? Also, does the word 'plummet' in 'your place and time' mean 'the same' to another in 'their place' and/or in 'their time'?
Obviously, but when say and write some thing, here, which just about everyone, here, would already know?accelafine wrote: ↑Tue Apr 08, 2025 11:28 pm Many people have ended up with negative equity in their homes and mortgages they can't afford because of decreased house value and increased interest rates.
Of course you would, especially considering where 'your interests' lay only.accelafine wrote: ↑Tue Apr 08, 2025 11:28 pm Frankly I care more about them than I do about some arseholes playing the stock market.
By the way, do you even realize just how 'blind', 'deaf', and/or closed you really are and really do come across, here?
Why some people might consider it a bad thing when the stock market goes down is, obviously, because and when they have 'interests' in the 'stock markets' and/or what can and does happen when the 'stock market' goes down. One thing that can and does happen is that jobs are lost, which results in the 'less buying' and/or 'more selling' of houses, which in turn, obviously, leads to house prices going down, or what some consider and view as 'plummeting'.
Which, obviously, is what some people are only 'interested' in. In other words why some people only 'care about' how 'negative equity' is because they 'lack empathy' for others and/or only really care about what happens to their own 'monetary wealth', only.
The simple and easy answer, however, is just 'greed', itself. See you older human beings 'consider' what is a 'good thing' and/or a 'bad thing' on 'your monetary interests' of a 'particular thing'. And, like you 'care' 'more about' one thing over another thing is, again, because of 'greed', itself, and in what your own personal 'greedy interests' are 'in', exactly. Which what 'your greedy interests' are 'in', exactly, here, is pretty well absolutely blatantly obvious.

Re: Stock market
I don't recall any headlines EVER about US house prices going down. Yet when the stockmarket goes down the whole world starts wetting itself.
Re: Stock market
Trump waves his magic wand, suspends tariffs while negotiating trade deals, and all that stock market money that vanished, reappears. How ‘bout that.
Re: Stock market
And, once again, you are making a so-called 'observation' from a very narrowed, shallow, and/or closed perspective, only.accelafine wrote: ↑Wed Apr 09, 2025 7:44 amWhere's the nonsense? This thread is predicated on nonsense.
All of those who have 'an interest' in what happens when the stock market goes down, or up, obviously.
That you had to be informed of 'this', some will wonder why.
But, then others will recognize and see when one is just 'trolling', here, as 'it' is some times known as.

Re: Stock market
If it is wrong that 'recession' cause house prices to go down, and, 'inflation' cause interest rates to go up, then what is 'right', exactly, and instead?accelafine wrote: ↑Wed Apr 09, 2025 7:52 amWrong on both counts.FlashDangerpants wrote: ↑Wed Apr 09, 2025 7:45 amWhat was it if not a recession that caused the house prices to go down? What made the interest rates go up if not inflation?
you have been 'asking questions', here. If what was written, and asked, here, is not 'your point', anyway, then what is 'your point', exactly, and anyway?
Re: Stock market
Once again 'we' have 'another one', here, who makes claims, but when just asked to clarify what would prove their claim correct, then 'run away', and 'hide', as some call 'this Wrong behavior'.accelafine wrote: ↑Wed Apr 09, 2025 8:07 amCan't be bothered with smart-arse know-it-alls. I'm sure you are an 'economic expert' along with being an expert on everything else. Work it out for yourself.FlashDangerpants wrote: ↑Wed Apr 09, 2025 8:04 amThose were questions. If I can be "wrong" on both counts then you must know answers to them. So what made the house prices go down? What made the interest rates go up?
Re: Stock market
Again, greed.accelafine wrote: ↑Wed Apr 09, 2025 7:45 pmOoh, someone's been busy on google and AIFlashDangerpants wrote: ↑Wed Apr 09, 2025 12:54 pmSo this house price event you describe didn't occur in NZ around 2022 to 2024 then?I'm sure you, as a man on a different part of the planet, knows far more about where I live and what happens there than I do, so feel free to give me the benefit of your great male wisdom and mansplanations
I go by what's going on, not what bloated 'experts' say when they drival on about GDP and 'growth'. Why does an economy have to be permanently in 'growth mode' anyway?
Just about every thing you adult human beings do is because of 'monetary greed'.
If economies are 'not growing', then so to, in general, your adult human being's 'monetary gains, or 'monetary stocks' 'stop growing'. Which, for most of you adult human beings, is about all you really care about, and have 'interest' in.
How 'large an area' do you actually venture into?accelafine wrote: ↑Wed Apr 09, 2025 7:45 pm That's just political bullshit-speak. A low unemployment rate does not scream to me 'imploding economy', great depression number 2, devastatiion and mass starvation blah blah blah. It's the same when they rant about mass homelessness. I've never seen one single homeless person ANYWHERE.
Why do just about all of your posts end up being in relation to 'men', "americans", "wokies", and/or so-called 'correct usage of language', only?accelafine wrote: ↑Wed Apr 09, 2025 7:45 pm Now the US really does have mass homelessness. The homeless are everywhere. It's not as if the homeless can just make themselves invisible.

Re: Stock market
And you therefore assume that means that American house prices must have collapsed at some time without anybody mentioning it?accelafine wrote: ↑Thu Apr 10, 2025 3:50 am I don't recall any headlines EVER about US house prices going down. The last time US house prices fell, it caused the event that defined the next decade, and you were told all about it every day for years.
