The human mind cannot deal with not knowing anything, so it constructs imagined ideologies, and calls it truth.
It's okay, we're all free to dream up the world according to our belief about it. According to what we think we know, but don't, but believe anyway.

Re: Philosophy Mistaken Identity
If truth is unknowable, then we are defining it by what it is not (ie knowable) and these negative limits (what it is not) put limits on it thus making it knowable as we know by limits.Fairy wrote: ↑Tue Apr 01, 2025 8:59 am The Unknowable Truth Paradox

Re: Philosophy Mistaken Identity
An example of human beings constructing imagined ideologies, and calling them 'truth', is claiming there is a 'human mind', and then calling, and believing, 'this' true.
Yes you human beings are ABSOLUTELY FREE to 'dream up' whatever you like and want to.
Even some of you BELIEVE that you HAVE TO BELIEVE 'things', anyway.
Re: Philosophy Mistaken Identity
What, or who knows a 'Concept' can only be answered by another concept known. And yet, concepts know nothing. A paradox indeed.Eodnhoj7 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 01, 2025 9:05 amIf truth is unknowable, then we are defining it by what it is not (ie knowable) and these negative limits (what it is not) put limits on it thus making it knowable as we know by limits.Fairy wrote: ↑Tue Apr 01, 2025 8:59 am The Unknowable Truth Paradox

Re: Philosophy Mistaken Identity
Everything is either true or not true, but not everything that is true can be proven true, and not everything false can be proven false. Despite this however, we can, in some cases, calculate the probability that something is true or not true, even when we can’t know for sure.
Re: Philosophy Mistaken Identity
What do 'you' mean by, 'Everything is either true or not true', exactly? To me some things like 'moons' and 'planets' are neither true nor false. 'They' just are what 'they are'.
If a thing can not be proved true, then how do you know that that thing is true, exactly? Conversely, if a thing can not be proved false, then how would ANY one know that it is false, exactly?
If you can not know, for sure, then WHY worry about, or even want to know, if 'it' is true or not?

Concept through concept as a concept is the occurence of knowing as a cycle.Fairy wrote: ↑Tue Apr 01, 2025 9:12 amWhat, or who knows a 'Concept' can only be answered by another concept known.
