Triggered!
You deliberately provoke people and then write such things. I advise you to see a psychologist.

About a year and a half ago I ran away from a fundamentalist cult as an 18th birthday present to myself to myself. I learned a lot about the Bible there and also farming - but not much about philosophy. I was mostly home schooled and still find large cities to be a confusing environment.

One day I was browsing a garage sale as it was wrapping up and got a small cardboard box filled with books for free - it had things like The Republic, Critique of Pure Reason (still can't make heads or tails of it), Utilitarianism etc. Double the size of my personal library, which was mostly graphic novels, and the Bible.

So that's my philosophy journey so far.
you have just run away from 'one fundamentalist cult' to 'another fundamentalist cult'.

The first one was teaching, or indoctrinating, you about some living together as 'one' in harmony, the new one that you are in 'now' will teach, indoctrinate, you into believing that you need money, chasing after more money is your only real goal, and that you are an individual who can live alone and that you could never ever live with others in peace, nor in harmony, at all. But, intertwined with a few snippets of actual enlightenment, and inspiration.

I am not sure how one so-calls 'wins' an 'argument'. To me, there are two forms of 'arguing':

1. Disagreement, shown by quarreling; fighting, bickering; yelling/screaming; and/or even warring and killing. NO one 'wins' any thing.

2. Agreement, shown by and through logical reasoning. When 'things' are 'argued', through 'logical reasoning', then NO one 'loses', any thing.

However, with number 2, here, unless an 'argument' is a 'sound AND valid argument', in other words absolutely every one is in agreement, because NO one could refute it, then this is just a Fact or the Truth, and not some thing that is 'won' nor 'lost', as well.

Sure, some invalid or unsound arguments' might be more compelling, or less convincing, than others are, but, again, is any one really 'winning', or 'losing', any actual 'thing', here?

Unless an argument is sound AND valid, then, really, are 'they' even worth sharing, or repeating, at all, anyway?

I like that quote. Seems true to me. :|
Chinese philosophy seems to consist of pages upon pages of pointless boring crap about respecting parents and older brothers and the Emperor (and the gods, as an afterthought) with an occasional really interesting bit.
Is there ANY literature/scripture, which, in general, does not seem to consist of much, so-called, 'pointless boring crap', about things similar to what you just mentioned here, without an occasional really interesting, or inspirational, bit?

If there is, then that 'theology/religion' would have best been completely disregarded before it was ever even shared, or repeated.

I don't blame you for running away from a fund_a_mental_list cult.
But, running in to a cult run by de-part-mental workers, namely fundamental govern-ments, is not the most helpful of things, as well.

Being governed, and controlled, by those of being only part mental is not the best cult to be in either.

Awesome! I noticed some years back that public libraries are shrinking and getting rid of older random non-fiction books. I went into this library where you could fill a box up for $5.

There are plenty of non-Republicans who do not see the need for people bringing up their pronouns.

But it is only Republicans who have a shit fit from it.

Where I work some people put their pronouns in their email. My boss thinks that is stupid - but he also doesn't care, as long as he can read the email and understand it and it is relevant and timely and such. His advice to people who are upset by pronouns is not to read the email signature block.

Well, i'm probably similar to your boss on this subject. And probably the only reason he doesn't tell idiots that feel that they need to STATE their SEX (M/F) pronoun, is because he doesn't want human resources up his arse.

If someone feels the need to tell others about their preferred pronoun then they are a total f'ing moron. It's easy, put your hand down you pants, if you feel a package, namely a cock and a pair of bollocks, your pronoun is HE other_wise your pronoun is SHE.

EASY f'kin PEASY - society has been functioning along fine with such obvious LOGIC for aeons.

Comprehend?

I just looked up a two minute "documentary" that explains the pickle you seem to be having: Monty Python

He owns the place so I don't think he worries too much about HR - and we are at an employment at-will state anyway.

It just he is more concerned about things that actually matter - like showing up on time and doing your job.

Like so many things, it more complex that that - especially with email. The way English language is, you kind of have to know the gender of your correspondent but if their name is something like "Thip Hong' its kind of nice being able to tell right away if you are dealing with a man or a woman.

In my own case, some people seem to have genuine difficulty telling if I am a guy or a girl - and if they know that if they try to stick their hands down the front of my pants that may lead to physical injury. A name tag with my name, a rainbow, and pronouns makes things less awkward - less awkward is good when dealing with customers.

If it's an email from Thong Wong and I can't tell whether you are a male or female, I will simply ask (via email)

If you as a person, look and dress in a way that someone as discerning as myself are still left puzzled and even if your name is Thong Wong where unlike David or Sally thus, I am in complete and utter non comprehension of which MALE or FEMALE pronoun to use, I do what I have always done in the office, I ask someone, is that lovely but weird looking thang "Thong Wong" a man or a woman? --- it all soon gets resolved rather easily.

Now the problem seems to exist where oneself in the office KNOWS they have a cock and bollocks package between their legs, but in emails to others they state their pronoun as SHE/HER - thus creating all kinds of frustration to NORMAL humans in the office.

Hopefully, REPUBLICANS now that they are in power are putting an end to such "gender" bender nonsense. (I don't live in USA, so am unaffected by a more rational government being in power)

Ya know, where normal humans get fired for refusing to address those morons with gender bender pronouns.

Do Americans even know what pronouns are and how they are used? Do Americans know anything about anything except how to drag the entire human race into their cesspit of stupidity?

pronouns are nouns that get paid (they are professional after all)
