A ternary “bit” is called a trit.Atla wrote: ↑Sat Mar 15, 2025 9:10 pmYou said ternary computers start still as binary. So now you seem to be saying that binary means digital? No, binary doesn't mean digital. And no, a ternary bit isn't "either on or off", because it's ternary. And there is no magic in the analog vs digital distinction either which you just brought up, the digital signal can be seen as a special case of analog. What are you even on about?Phil8659 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 15, 2025 8:50 pm You seem to be exceptionally thick. I did not say anything did not exist, but I did say, there is again, two, and only two types, Digital and Analog. Now, the same applies to computing as stated by Aristotle and Plato,
We have one, or the other, or again, the combination of both.
A bit is either on or off, this is what is meant by binary. secondly, Terse computers are defined not in accordance with binary, but in accordance with base,
Learn the difference between base notation as a convention of grammar, and Binary, which allows you to choose your base system. Any current PC or everyone made, is designed to calculate in any base system you want, depending on its core processor, 8, 16, 32, 64, etc.

Is Atla asking people to teach him how to read? or what to conclude because he is too lazy?commonsense wrote: ↑Sat Mar 15, 2025 9:18 pmEg:Atla wrote: ↑Sat Mar 15, 2025 9:11 pmWhat pairs? What are you talking about?commonsense wrote: ↑Sat Mar 15, 2025 9:07 pm
By use of mathematical permutation, a ternary expression can be rewritten as 3 pairs. That is what is meant by a final decision—one that is reduced to a choice of two options.
Ternary (1,2,3)
Binary (1,2) (1,3) (2,3)
Re: Foundation of Education
And what is this? If it's binary then it doesn't have 3 different values.commonsense wrote: ↑Sat Mar 15, 2025 9:18 pmEg:Atla wrote: ↑Sat Mar 15, 2025 9:11 pmWhat pairs? What are you talking about?commonsense wrote: ↑Sat Mar 15, 2025 9:07 pm

Do you even know what the word "binary" means?Phil8659 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 15, 2025 9:22 pmIs Atla asking people to teach him how to read? or what to conclude because he is too lazy?

I took it that he was asking me to support my claim about permutations of two. He could just as well have researched permutations, but for whatever reason he chose to ask me instead.Phil8659 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 15, 2025 9:22 pmIs Atla asking people to teach him how to read? or what to conclude because he is too lazy?

Re: Foundation of Education
It has 3 different binary choices.

Explain what "choice" and "permutation" mean when converting a ternary circuit to a binary one.commonsense wrote: ↑Sat Mar 15, 2025 9:29 pmIt has 3 different binary choices.

Well, I had a rather long and concentrated education in electronics, thanks to our government. You remind me of a kid boss I use to have. After spending months, all day long, in a brick building with a tin roof to learn welding, again a government thingy, my boss asked me to teach him how to weld taking 5 min a day.Atla wrote: ↑Sat Mar 15, 2025 9:32 pmExplain what "choice" and "permutation" mean when converting a ternary circuit to a binary one.
Now, he was just stupid. You are both stupid and a smart ass.

And I had an education in computer sciences and think that you are both stupid and a smartass.Phil8659 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 15, 2025 9:40 pmWell, I had a rather long and concentrated education in electronics, thanks to our government. Now, you see why I posted this thread. Educated in computer science, as you say, and do not even know what binary recursion is, nor the difference between binary as a base, and binary used to produce base pairing.Atla wrote: ↑Sat Mar 15, 2025 9:42 pmAnd I had an education in computer sciences and think that you are both stupid and a smartass.Phil8659 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 15, 2025 9:40 pmWell, I had a rather long and concentrated education in electronics, thanks to our government. Then why are you the one who doesn't understand that a ternary computer doesn't start as binary.Phil8659 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 15, 2025 9:47 pmNow, you see why I posted this thread. But can you explain what "starting" here is?commonsense wrote: ↑Sat Mar 15, 2025 10:01 pmStarting is not the same as ultimately, depending on.Atla wrote: ↑Sat Mar 15, 2025 9:53 pmThen why are you the one who doesn't understand that a ternary computer doesn't start as binary.Phil8659 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 15, 2025 9:47 pm

It's what Phil said. You seem to agree with it somewhat. But again can't explain it.commonsense wrote: ↑Sat Mar 15, 2025 10:05 pmYou used the term, not me.
