There's a reason why so-called computer nerds are always male. FAR more confidence than ability. I'm always amazed when I find I know more about 'tech' stuff than they do. They just pretend to know everything (and probably actually believe it). Odious little condescending incel creeps.
What makes males so confident, even when they have absolutely NOTHING to be confident ABOUT?
It was always the same entitled spoilt brat b*****s (I hate that word) that had the attitude that they knew more than some dude that just happens to be working in a call centre, thus must be dumb. Always unreasonable unwilling to accept the truth. The men 9 times out of 10 you could eventually calm them down and reason with them. But there was a certain type of woman (*perhaps the Veg type?) that you couldn't bring them to the correct conclusion.
You'd be surprised at the level of knowledge some 'call centre' tech roles require.
Let's see you remote configure a VOIP router, because the tech on site has fucked up all the line connection points to shed load of phones, faxes etc..
PS. There were loads of women at my office
