Quite an embarrassing display of disloyalty to His Majesty, I think, and such a waste, too. Tea doesn't grow on trees.promethean75 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 06, 2025 9:17 am Now there's a lass who loves her country. Utter the word England, and she gives you a history lesson with a Shakespearean addendum.

It won't be accurate though, we were last successfully invaded in 1688, we surrendered without a fight.promethean75 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 06, 2025 9:17 am Now there's a lass who loves her country. Utter the word England, and she gives you a history lesson with a Shakespearean addendum.

William III was invited over by the leading faction in parliament, so to call it an invasion is a bit misleading. Perhaps, to clarify, one could say that 1066 represented the last successful invasion that was actively opposed.FlashDangerpants wrote: ↑Thu Mar 06, 2025 9:25 amIt won't be accurate though, we were last successfully invaded in 1688, we surrendered without a fight.promethean75 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 06, 2025 9:17 am Now there's a lass who loves her country. Clearly, someone didn't read articles 13 and 26 in the 1688 referendum, Maia.
