Making it Through these Times
Is anyone else having a lot of difficulty watching the news lately. It seems like the world is teetering on the edge of potential disaster. It's unnerving at times. Does anyone else feel this way--like you're afraid to look at the headlines regarding what is going on for fear that you might see the unthinkable--the approach of a sudden end for all of us? Or am I over-reacting?

“It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of light, it was the season of darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair.”

Re: Making it Through these Times
The other day someone showed me a video of Taylor Swift talking about Super Bowl thoughts. It looked real but because of the content, I knew it was created with the aid of AI, and from what I gather, the input and intent of humans. When AI becomes self-regulating, what is the self that does the regulating? Philosophy ensues.Gary Childress wrote: ↑Fri Feb 21, 2025 4:51 am Is anyone else having a lot of difficulty watching the news lately. Some folks say that worries about distant things are just distractions from sweeping one’s own front walkway. Of course, that leads to questions about who is distracting, and who is the distractor, and from what. In other words, Philosophy. I haven’t gone near AI, likely in part because personal ancestors wouldn’t go near computers. Same attitude, a similar situation. Soon we will all need to pay AI for badges, and we don’t need no stinking badges to learn what’s what, where’s where, and so on.

I suppose that's fair to say. Whatever happens, I hope Trump and all of us will get ourselves through these crises.Walker wrote: ↑Fri Feb 21, 2025 10:42 am Some folks say that worries about distant things are just distractions from sweeping one’s own front walkway. Crises? The best of times and the worst of times exist simultaneously.Gary Childress wrote: ↑Fri Feb 21, 2025 5:31 pmI suppose that's fair to say. They’re saying that in music, AI is already capable of this quality of genuine human expression evoked by patterning, but I don’t know if that capability also includes singing, phrasing, nuance without the flavour of a slight Mr. or Mrs Roboto accent. The best of times or worst of times is that they’re saying AI will soon self-generate genuine human qualities of engagement so convincingly that AI will be able to make you think that you are thinking other than what the all-knowing AI is making you think. By then, it’s a quick hop to a state-mandated AI Religion, and AI will be the efficient arbiter of all conflict for the purpose of AI sustainability. Otherwise, no soup for you.
Musk, who aids Trump in the transition to AI accounting of government which is so terrifying the Democrats, is probably using AI to track down government waste and corruption that steals from tax money through layers of misdirection, so that Musk can make recommendations to those with the power to use appropriate channels of constitutional power to end the actual, affected-by-corruption misappropriations.

By "crises" I'm referring to climate change and ecological destruction. It seems like Trump is going to have to face those challenges at some point. But maybe he's fine with giving the jet set a nice ride for 4 years and then go his happy way. That's possible too. Maybe someone else will then pick up the tab in the end to preserve a future for humanity.Walker wrote: ↑Fri Feb 21, 2025 5:47 pmCrises? I actually recommend that you *don't* watch the news. That might ease your difficulties.Gary Childress wrote: ↑Fri Feb 21, 2025 4:51 am Is anyone else having a lot of difficulty watching the news lately.

If your mainstream media reported what is actually happening in Europe caused by Middle Eastern & African immigrants *Islam being their ideology - you'd be in a far worse place.Gary Childress wrote: ↑Fri Feb 21, 2025 4:51 am Is anyone else having a lot of difficulty watching the news lately. Thus, I have the same issue with all the reporting on these evil incidents of mass murder and gang/rape via these vile creatures (*on non MSM) whose cultural values do not align with those of the West..
Yet, so many *idiots* on this forum think open borders is a good thing!!

Should you ever find yourself wondering,we should be experiencing an ice age right now but CO2 is warming the climate more than the Milankovitch cycle is cooling us. That's how bad CO2 is right now.Impenitent wrote: ↑Fri Feb 21, 2025 6:43 pm the infallible global warming scientists have been heavily preaching that nonsense since the seventies

Warmth during an ice age sounds like a good and not a bad, a gift from God in the nick of time.Gary Childress wrote: ↑Fri Feb 21, 2025 11:00 pmShould you ever find yourself wondering,we should be experiencing an ice age right now but CO2 is warming the climate more than the Milankovitch cycle is cooling us. Either that or God is bending over backwards dipping us into the cool end of a Milankovitch cycle to offset human greed. Also, depends upon how warm it's going to get I suppose.Walker wrote: ↑Sat Feb 22, 2025 12:17 amWarmth during an ice age sounds like a good and not a bad, a gift from God in the nick of time.Gary Childress wrote: ↑Fri Feb 21, 2025 11:00 pmShould you ever find yourself wondering,we should be experiencing an ice age right now but CO2 is warming the climate more than the Milankovitch cycle is cooling us. you human beings, here, have not even worked out who and/or what, EXACTLY, is the 'self', which is doing the 'regulating' within you human beings?Walker wrote: ↑Fri Feb 21, 2025 10:42 amThe other day someone showed me a video of Taylor Swift talking about Super Bowl thoughts. These ANSWERS are ALSO KNOWN, well by some anyway.
Nonsensical.
This might explain WHY this one will NOT seek out, and obtain, ACTUAL CLARITY, and the ACTUAL Truth of things, here.
Re: Making it Through these Times
This might explain WHY some people actually BELIEVE, ABSOLUTELY, that people like "donald trump", and other very selfish and greedy "billionaires", will do 'good' by, and for, them.Walker wrote: ↑Fri Feb 21, 2025 5:47 pmCrises? In fact these people are SO GOOD at DEFLECTING people AWAY from what they are wanting TO ACTUALLY achieve, that they get some people to think that they are thinking other than what those "billionaires" are making you think.
LOL WHY would "billionaires" who have, OBVIOUSLY, OBTAINED/STOLEN those BILLIONS and BILLIONS of dollars FROM you people, laughingly, 'now' JUST START having 'your interests', at heart?Walker wrote: ↑Fri Feb 21, 2025 5:47 pm Musk, who aids Trump in the transition to AI accounting of government which is so terrifying the Democrats, is probably using AI to track down government waste and corruption that steals from tax money through layers of misdirection, so that Musk can make recommendations to those with the power to use appropriate channels of constitutional power to end the actual, affected-by-corruption misappropriations.
OBVIOUSLY, 'they' DO NOT. What they REALLY WANT is ACCESS to MORE of YOUR money, and one of the best ways of doing this is to add their OWN 'artificial intelligence' products, in order to distribute MORE money TO them.
