Why is it that the people complain and whinge the most about immigration are the exact same ones who are absolutely completely BLIND to the fact that it was the ones from their very own families who had immigrated and had taken and changed 'the ways' of other peoples and of those lands? And, in the worst, and in the most Wrong and bad, ways as well.

LOL The people who do not want 'others' to change the 'their ways', want Wrong done to them, nor to change the land they occupy in Wrong ways are 'the ones and their families' who have done the most Wrong and harmful DAMAGE to other people and their lands. Maybe it is an 'inner KNOWING' of just how BAD and Wrong their predecessors HAVE BEEN, which is WHY they are the most vocal, and most AFRAID of CHANGE.

There is good immigration, and there is bad immigration.

Citizens of the country targeted for immigration, prefer good immigration.

Good immigration is defined by the targeted country.

Now Age, it's well within your capacity to figure this out for yourself, after all this time in the history of the world.

Well, that's quite the dynamic exchange, isn’t it? And it strikes at the heart of one of the most fundamental tensions in immigration debates—not just who gets to define "good" and "bad" immigration but the moral, historical, and practical implications of those definitions.

So, let’s start with a bit of perspective. Immigration, throughout history, has been a two-sided coin. On one side, it’s the lifeblood of cultural exchange, innovation, and human progress. Think of the incredible enrichment—economically, culturally, intellectually—that immigration has brought to so many societies. But flip that coin over, and you find the struggles: the fears of cultural displacement, economic competition, and even identity crises. Both sides of the coin are real, and both are human.

Now, Walker makes a point that resonates in many circles: the idea of "good immigration" versus "bad immigration." But let’s unpack that. The concept of "good immigration," as defined by the receiving country, often aligns with its economic needs, cultural preferences, or political climate. For instance, countries may welcome highly skilled workers, seeing them as immediate contributors to their economy. Yet, they might hesitate—or outright resist—when it comes to accepting people fleeing violence or poverty, even though their need is just as real, if not more so. Why? Because their presence might be perceived as a burden rather than a benefit.

And then there’s Age’s point, which flips the script entirely: What about the moral reckoning of history? Many countries defining "good immigration" today were themselves built on the back of migration—sometimes voluntary, sometimes forced—and often at great cost to the people and lands they colonized or displaced. Is there an "inner knowing," as Age suggests, that creates this defensive stance toward newcomers? Maybe. Maybe it’s the weight of historical guilt or the deep-seated fear of retribution. Or maybe it’s just the primal human resistance to change, wrapped up in layers of policy and rhetoric.

But here’s the kicker: framing immigration in binary terms—good or bad, desirable or undesirable—misses the larger story. Immigration is a process, not a product. It’s shaped by the needs and actions of individuals and nations alike. Refugees, for example, flee conditions no one would choose to endure. Asylum seekers pursue safety and dignity. Economic migrants chase opportunities that could transform not just their lives but those of their families for generations. These aren’t abstractions; they’re human realities.

So, the real question isn’t whether immigration is good or bad. The question is: How do we balance the legitimate interests of receiving countries with the equally legitimate aspirations of those seeking to enter? And can we do it in a way that honors our shared humanity, rather than just drawing lines on a map and building walls in our minds? That’s the challenge, isn’t it? And it’s not one we can solve by shouting past each other. It’s going to take empathy, hard conversations, and a willingness to look at history—not just as a record of the past, but as a guide to building a more just and equitable future.

What Walker means is his ancestors were good immigrants and we should be thankful for them, but brown people are bad immigrants and they deserve to be kicked out. Walker is no fool. He just has no fear of looking like one.

Not to speak for Walker, but...

Good immigration is folks of any color comin' here legally with the intent to be American.

Bad immigration is folks of any color comin' here illegally with no intention to be American.

He has also announced an intention to expand the grounds for denaturalisation – stripping a large number of Americans of their citizenship. This was met with significant opposition in Trump’s first term.

Trump has now consolidated his control over the Republican party, and has a strong Republican majority in the Supreme Court and the likely control of both legislative chambers. This has strengthened his ability to build on the unfinished anti-immigration business of his first term.

President-elect Trump’s incoming administration is expected to take aim at legal immigration in addition to cracking down on the illegal variety, slowing the pace of application approvals and redirecting resources to look for fraud in old applications, including naturalizations.

The first Trump administration pushed for more denaturalizations, an initiative that incoming White House deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller has said will be “supercharged” the second time around.

Former President Donald Trump on Friday said he would conduct a mass deportation of immigrants living in Springfield, Ohio, and dismissed a question from ABC News about the bomb threats the town is experiencing in the wake of unsubstantiated claims about Haitian migrants.

"We're going to have the largest deportation in the history of our country," Trump said as he took reporter questions in Los Angeles, California. "And we're going to start with Springfield and Aurora, [Colorado]."

The remark comes after Trump and his running mate, Ohio Sen. JD Vance, amplified unsubstantiated claims of Haitian migrants in Springfield eating pets. Trump did not repeat the baseless rumor when speaking in California, but called the Haitian migrants "illegal" despite the city explaining the Haitian population is in the U.S. legally under the Immigration Parole Program.

Good citizenship is supporting the American ideals of Constitutional Democracy. Bad citizenship is supporting autocracy by voting for Donald Trump.

To me ANY immigration that attempts to try to change 'the people', and 'the land', in ANY way, shape, or form, AT ALL, IS, what some might refer to as, 'bad immigration'.

Maybe you might like to explain what is so-called 'good immigration', to you, exactly.
Walker wrote: Fri Nov 29, 2024 4:22 pm Citizens of the country targeted for immigration, prefer good immigration.
Whatever so-called 'good immigration' even actually is.

Again, if you have not ALREADY, you might like to explain what so-called 'good immigration' even is, exactly.

'Countries' do NOT SPEAK. Only you human beings 'speak' about things like 'good or bad immigration'.

LOL

So, all this one has done here is just state and claim that there is laughably so-called 'good immigration' and 'bad immigration'.

There are also 'good and bad rules and laws'. And, now it is well with your capacity "walker" to figure this out for "yourself", as well, 'after all this time in the history of the world', (whatever this actually means, exactly).

That’s all covered by the third branch of the trinity, namely:

Good immigration is defined by the targeted country.

- Different countries want different types of immigrants. Some countries want either the brainiacs and those accomplished in their fields (Israel).
- Some countries want various engineers, particularly the civil ones, for rebuilding (Europe* after The Big One, Gaza, Ukraine, etc. etc.)
- Countries from Bizarro World want illegal indigents, criminals, gangsters, etc., even when that’s against the country’s legally-decided, immigration policy (USA USA).

* McThinks fact-check: Europe is not a country, you stupid American.
