Re: True Story of the Day
"you keep banging on about the colour of Trump's skin and the colour of Kamala's skin?"
Because THEY keep banging on about it, either openly or with little innuendos everywhere. There will never be racial harmony in my country until the white and black working classes recognize their mutual interests and what unites them and under the gravity of the seriousness of their endeavor, forget to notice all their superficial differences and work together to hold shit down instead.
I've explained before how the whole introduction of the knee-grow into Europe and the Americas was done all terribly wrong. But you couldn't expect a peasant and worker revolution to stop it at such an early stage of industrialism. There is no.way you'd ever get some British intellectual engineer mathematician composer inventor scientist economist philosopher violinist from the eighteenth century to not think it's a good idea to let those knee-grows do the work instead. And thus a natural aberration in the darwinistic selection pressure put on the socio-economic dialect of history occured. The European man realized his superiority and instead of developing a nurturing and paternal relationship to the more primitive knee-grow in order to assimilate him into western society, he thought it'd be cheaper and easier just to ship a few over on a boat, work 'em in the fields during the day and lock 'em in a barn at night.
What they couldn't have known was that hundreds of years later there would be a social revolution and the knee-grows, having been propertyless for generations following their slave ancestors, would suddenly.be given equal rights, and all hell would break loose. First it was L.L. Cool J, now it's Kamala Harris when she isn't an Indian.
But you see what I mean. The problem of racism in the world, especially the western world where black slaves were most concentrated during the industrial revolution, is a giant cluster fuck of consecutive bad moves on the chessboard of the world. Mate it may be another two hundred years before white 'n black folks stop hating each other.

I have the sudden and insatiable urge to eat a cold chicken salad sandwich on a flaky croissant bun. It just came out of nowhere. No triggers, didn't see a commercial and I'm not even really hungry.
Where might I find a cold chicken salad sandwich on a flaky croissant bun if I decide to procure one. With that question I shall now concern myself.

So long as stupid people like Flashpoopypants continue to insist people are racist and keep insisting we be constantly made aware of a humans skin colour...ya sure, actually you are doing the exact same thing here within this thread.promethean75 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 29, 2024 7:45 pm Mate it may be another two hundred years before white 'n black folks stop hating each other.

Re: True Story of the Day
An aside, I got fined $537 for not wearing a seatbelt last week.
As if the Life of Brian is only worth $537..
As if I don't have the right to die by flying through my van window and being sliced apart if I feel uncomfortable wearing a seatbelt.
Of course, I'm not going to pay it.

It was most likely big insurance financers that lobbied the government to pass seatbelt laws because they were having to pay too much out when policy holders went through the windshield. This is corporatism-fascism, clear and simple. Big money and government working together to restrict the liberty of the proletariat in his own car.

Re: True Story of the Day
So, on a walk this morning, i conducted an experiment to examine what it might be like to be blind and moving about. There's this huge field of relatively flat cut grass that is surrounded by a trail i walk often... the field at least two football fields long. So i designed to close my eyes and walk across the field for a minimum of sixty seconds. If my calculations were correct, by sixty seconds, i would be only three quarters of the way.
And i couldn't do it.
The fear of running into something was so visceral and unnerving that even though i knew I wouldn't hit anything, i still couldn't override the dreadful feeling i started having about thirty seconds into it. Everything about my Being screaming at me "you mustn't do this, Prom!" So, I peeked and was disqualified.
I don't know how Maia does it. Hey Maia, have you ever done that... or better, have you ever been somewhere where you could jog/run safely for a few seconds? If so, was it scary as f*ck or what?

Re: True Story of the Day
"The researchers collected microorganisms within soils from Jordan, Tunisia, Morocco and the Canary Islands, and showed that the hardiest of them, a Bacillus species from Morocco, could survive in a dried spore stage at temperatures up to 420 degrees C. More than 90 percent of spores could be “resurrected” after heating to 300 degrees C, and about 40 percent after being heated to 420 degrees C. How do the Bacillus spores do it. Gheysens thinks the bacteria must have a protein-based repair mechanism, or an RNA- or DNA-template that’s able to repair DNA damaged by excessive heat."
It's the extremophiles that are a mystery. The formation of nucleic acids and proteins from chemically activated amino acids is no problem. Little lightning, little salt water, and some cozy warm vents on the ocean floor. Done. But how do the nucleic acids reassemble molecular structure after their atomic constituents have been altered via the extreme heat. There are some metals that can't even handle that kind of heat. How in Sam Hill can a molecule handle that kind of heat?
Look at this one.
"The resistance to ionizing radiation of T. gammatolerans is enormous. While a dose of 5 Gy is sufficient to kill a human, and a dose of 60 Gy is able to kill all cells in a colony of E. coli, Thermococcus gammatolerans can withstand doses up to 30,000 Gy, and an instantaneous dose up to 5,000 Gy with no loss of viability."
Unbelievable. How does this thing prevent electrons from being detached from its atoms when exposed to ionizing radiation like that? It's a little molecule, mates, not an incredible hulk.

Re: True Story of the Day
Oh dear. I may have found a serial killer who was as sexy as sexy Ted and maybe even more. In one pic, he looked like Chris whatshisname from Guardians of the Galaxy but a tougher lookin version. The one and only Carl Panzram. He was one of the most horrible monsters that ever lived and on a whole different level than sexy Ted. You know that guy who always ends up being the one alive when locked in a room with another man, and one of them has to die? Well, that's Carl P, self declared "rage personified."
Oh, so you're a UFC champion, olympic dead lifter, or an ancient kung fu master huh? I don't care. This man will kill you. End of story. Even that famous Brazilian serial killer vigilantee guy who killed like 100 gang members and looked like a tribal warrior with tattoos everywhere. No, you're not going to make it. Take a good look at that mugshot of Carl P. before you go in there. Shank or no shank. Think it over, guy.
I'm working on finding his autobiographical journal material because it's said he had a 'nihilistic philosophy' and that he wrote quite a bit. They said much of it was published.
Now, in terms of being made a monster, the Panzram is incomparable to Ted the Bundbarian. If Ted thought he had it bad, he hadn't walked ten feet in the Panzram's shoes. This guy was a textbook late 1800s hard times living, barefoot all night farm working, drunk abusive father having, prison guard beaten, at least twice gangraped sonofabitch. He broke out of like five prisons. It was his time in Leavenworth that sent him over the edge, though.
"Panzram later claimed that while he had been a "rotten egg" before imprisonment at the military penitentiary, "any shred of goodness left in him was smashed out" during his time at Fort Leavenworth."
Understandably so. It's not exactly the Holiday Inn.
Shortly after his release - and the irony is beautiful here - he finds the secretary's house who approved of his sentence, steals his shit and burns it down. Then, he buys a yacht with the stolen money and sails around for eight years, raising all manner of hell, doing unspeakable super gay stuff, and killing folks with the secretary's gun. If there is such a thing as poetic justice, this is it.
In the end, he's sentenced to hang for beating that scumbag Warnke to death... right after Carl P. warned the warden to keep his goons off of him. It was the very first thing the Panzram told the cocksucker when he got off the bus...
"Upon arriving at Leavenworth Federal Penitentiary, identified as inmate #31614, he warned the warden: "I'll kill the first man that bothers me". Because he was considered too psychotic he was assigned to work alone in the prison laundry room, where the foreman, Robert Warnke, was known to bully and harass other prisoners under him. Warnke soon antagonized Panzram, despite the latter repeatedly warning him to back off. On June 20, 1929, Panzram beat Warnke to death with an iron bar. He was convicted and sentenced to death. He refused to allow any appeals of his sentence. In response to offers from death penalty opponents and human rights activists to intervene, he wrote: "The only thanks you and your kind will ever get from me for your efforts on my behalf is that I wish you all had one neck and that I had my hands on it."
"Panzram was hanged on September 5, 1930. As officers attempted to place the customary black-hood over his head, he spat in the executioner's face. When asked for any last words, he responded: "Yes. Hurry it up, you Hoosier bastard; I could kill a dozen men while you're screwing around!"

Re: True Story of the Day
A dilemma. While campaigning, a candidate who doesn't relentlessly ad hom and character assasinate his/her opponent loses pathological force, and therefore advantage, in making the opponent seem less favorable to the voters. But, if that candidate loses, they have to politely concede the loss and congratulate someone they just got done bashing for months. This makes them appear foolish and lacking conviction. Ergo, it is better to bash your opponent while campaigning and then tell him/her to go fuck themselves if and when they win. Doing so, one doesn't look like a fool without conviction.

More on the Carl Panzram Division for the PN true crime fanatics. This has become quote a story. While in prison, a guard by the name of Lesser befriended Carl and suggested to him that he should begin a journal, etc. After some brief refusal, Carl eventually began writing. Allegedly upwards of 40,000 words.
At the end of each day, Carl would place the papers he had written that day between the bars, and Lesser would discreetly take them. Lesser compiled the material and sent it to H.L. Mencken, who thought it was fantastic but advised against trying to publish it due to its over graphic nature.
On one occasion, after Carl was taken back to his cell from a second day of torture (being hung by his arms cuffed behind his back, not over his head), Lesser gave him a dollar for the canteen.
One another occasion, the Panzram Division built a makeshift ladder out of fence scrap and tried to climb over the prison wall, falling thirty feet and suffering multiple breaks and fractures as a result. He was immediately put into solitary and never treated. Spent his days writhing around on the cell floor in agonizing pain. Lesser describes and confirms all this.
It is also possible that much of what Carl said he did was a lie. Not that he didn't do that heinous shit he did, but that he didn't do as much of it as we think. His death count could be exaggerated, and his claim of sodomizing a thousand men is most certainly a lie. He also claimed to have obtained 100,000 dollars from a buglary/arson when, in fact, he only got 10,000 dollars. Due to him being known to lie, we'd expect some of his numbers and stories to be false.
Fabulous documentary despite the sultry and tragic-deep tough-guy voice of the Carl narrator: https://youtu.be/FxhcYl8AGbQ

Now hang on a second. There's some subtle nuance there that philosophers will recognize.
With "tends to blame," she also wants to mean that Panzram isn't and doesn't want to take responsibility (in the sense of free choice) for what he did. Clearly, not only does he want to take responsibility, he boasts about what he has done and makes sure everyone around him knows it.
How can this be a man who doesn't want to take responsibility?
See how words in freewill debates can be tricky?
I see this very, very often in true crime psychoanalysis. This hyper-emphasis on the criminal wanting to 'blame'... and yet all of these criminals believe they have freewill and want to take credit for, feel justified for, doing what they have.
By 'blame', one is only ever counting causes of which there are many, pointing them out; a, b and c were the causes that made me want to do x and even boast about doing x. Of course, i did it of my own freewill, and proudly.
How would homegirl square that with her meaning and use of the word 'blame'? For these words are serious and not to be used carelessly and recklessly.
These psychonanalysts need to study some Hume and Spinoza and stuff before they take a career in the criminal sciences, i think.

Hey I ain't trying to blow my own horn but this looping sample I did tapping on acoustic sounds wicked doesn't it? You have to have earphones to hear the percussive echos and shit. I recording one tapping track and then another and then split them up on a pro tools software program my friend had. It's the fading effect created by overlapping the tracks that's cool if you can keep the 7/8 without breaking time. Bro I need this software and some mics. I was looking at one of those amps with the built in board for recoding and mixing and those joints are expensive af.

Check out this little two string hammer-on thing I'm trying to make something of. That last down step to the low E string at the end sounds cool, but i clipped out a fuck-up trying to get to it.
