Well, humans, for a start off.
Why would you say this?

Some would say that germs, viruses, diseases, cancers, tidal waves, volcanoes, earthquakes, and/or meteorites for example are just some thing's that might be, create, or does have so-called 'effective or natural competition', to you human beings.

Okay.

Would, instead, an intelligent human being do 'that', which goes against what it wants and desires?
Maia wrote: Mon Sep 16, 2024 6:47 am There is no doubt that humans have trashed their environment, turning the planet into a complete tip. But to claim that we can affect long term climate cycles is a typical example of human hubris, I think.
Okay, but I am not sure what this has to do with any thing that I have previously said, and written, here.

They might have been once, but we always seem to bounce back and become more numerous.

There are plenty of species that have 'bounced back', and have lived and survived for a lot longer than the human species has as well.

Are you not a human being yourself, then?

Why do you ask this?

The word 'you' here means and/or refers to a human being, correct?

+++Okay.

Yes, I think it would be perfectly capable of doing so.
But, being capable of doing some thing is very, very different from doing some thing. For example, a Truly intelligent species is capable of polling the air and/or water that it needs for its very existence and survival. But, do you envision or imagine that a Truly intelligent species would pollute the air or water that it needs for its own existence and survival to a point where the air or water was too polluted to keep that species alive, and existing?

I chose Jack Daydream because at one place I worked everyone was given a Mr Men name. The manager was Mr Clever and others were ones like Mr Cool and Little Miss Tidy. I was given the name Mr Daydream and I have always been a bit of a daydreamer.

Me too Jack, I used to get told off at primary school for "daydreaming". I remember THINKING a lot about what the future might hold with regards to technology -- so this was around 1980. My Dad bought a Talbot Horizon, small hatchback car and I was mesmerised by the digital clock on trips at night as the digits glowed green on the centre console.

People are often critical of daydreamers and it often comes down to whether one favours doing or being. I am definitely more into being, introspection, contemplation and imagination. I love bus rides for this, whereas so many people don't like 'doing nothing'. There is so much emphasis on task doing and some people have to fill every moment with television or crossword puzzles. It is af if the person is afraid to be alone with oneself.

And now, fiddling around on phones is the main pastime, which apart from self avoidance comes with a way of avoiding talking to others in real life. Mobile phone surfing is the new daydream reality, but I prefer looking within!

Don't even get me started on scrabble mate.

I played scrabble some years ago and my mates bird was pulling words like "Qi" but everytime I checked my dictionary the word existed!!! A very intelligent lady she still is ........but, eventually I looked down at all the words "we" created and, oh my word

I took a photo, if I ever can find that photo again i'll post it.....................the words were from the system 8)
