The only two fat progrock joints on Rick Wakeman's Journey To The Centre Of The Earth whole album:

A personal all time favorite progrock moment in Riding The Scree by Genesis.

How the keyboardist comes out of that intro lead with those compound synth chords slowly laid over that 9/8 rhythm. How that chording is pressed on u. That's the cream right there. Real prog nerds know what I'm talking about. I could listen to four minutes of just that groove repeating. Some of Phil's best drum work is on that album.

If we're doing greatest moments in music then, here's a greatest fusion moment with Phil C again on drums with Brand X long after that Genesis clip.

I'm counting a 10/8, but they come suddenly out of a transition and dive into this bizarre spacey thing. Like if u were passing a black hole, this song would be playing through giant Bose speakers orbiting the black hole.

That odd muffled bass chattering and note bending is a sound only Percy on a fretless bass can make, probably in all of England. .

Definitely Bach influence there (Riding the Scree).

Not familiar with much Bach because I'm too plebian and ignoble. I know about Led Zeppelin though.

Lol @ this sweet spot in The Ghost Of Mayfield Lodge by Brand X. How they stumble into it. Whole song is great but only for the hardest and most committed fusion geeks.

You listen to it all the time--you just aren't aware of it. It should be a crime to NOT listen to Bach

If u mean in the whole snooty intellectual 'yeah bach laid a groundwork for progressive western music' way, then yes of course.

How ironic and hilarious. Rock fans who 'play a little bit' are the most pretentious twats imaginable  And no, I wasn't referring to that. I was referring to the fact that they have almost directly used Bach in that work and good for them. Bach sounds incredible in any context.

You have the 'dumb anti-'intellectual' American' act down to a fine art. Apparently it doesn't exclude being a pretentious effwit.

I could learn some Bach on guitar if someone showed me but I don't have the patience or attention span to look at tabs.
