I'm not saying a person should vote for Trump or Vance. I won't be. I'm just saying that lies remove a person's ability to act on their own true instincts. There are probably good reasons to vote against Trump and Vance. One of them is that Trump and Vance both seem to be lying shysters. However, I think it makes us little better if we are going to use the same means to undermine them that they are using to undermine rational decision making. Let people see the Truth. Have faith that people are not all monsters that will make the wrong decision unless we are lied to.promethean75 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 21, 2024 12:58 am No no i wouldn't need to quadruple down on this one. Ah but some dems are shysters, too. The only way out of this dilemma is to imagine a system without either party.

Yeah. We all seem to be strapped with bad choices right now. I've been mulling over the idea of voting for Jill Stein of the Green Party. Voting for the least harmful candidate seems like such a depressing way to vote anymore. I'd like to be able to vote for a candidate because I think they have a good head on their shoulders. Stein is an advocate for rank choice voting in which people rank candidates according to how much or how little they would prefer to see them in office. It's supposed to alleviate voters from the "lesser of two evils" dilemma to whatever degree.promethean75 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 21, 2024 1:23 am "One of them is that Trump and Vance both seem to be lying shysters."

I don’t understand the logic behind creating a distraction in order to draw media attention to the topics being distracted from .

Can't wait to see all you woke wankers crying next month
And promothean is only worried about his benefits being cut. That's understandable. Just be honest about it.

Benefits? I haven't had any kind of benefits since i worked at Rake 'n Hoe Garden Center when i was fifteen. Wtf kind of benefits are you talking about?
I was given a food stamp card when i got out of the penitentiary and began my transition back into society as an outstanding and law abiding citizen, though. I was buying mad expensive steaks and sushi rolls when i went grocery shopping in the beach ghetto where i lived. I had that card for a few months. $200 a month, no thanks to republicans, of course.

It was some comment you made fairly recently about Kamlala. Perhaps I misunderstood it. Frankly I didn't even think you had welfare in the US. I mean, encroaching on a person's FREEDOM to starve to death is just....communism....Ironic I know, because the Soviets were famous for giving people the FREEDOM to starve to death.
In a practical sense I imagine it would be hard to find a job when you have to tell prospective employers that you're a pervert.

It would have been true back then but Democrats have since caught up and over-taken them. It's now a case of which side has been infected with more evil. Republicans have stayed pretty much the same, with Democrats overtaking them in that as well.

"In a practical sense I imagine it would be hard to find a job when you have to tell prospective employers that you're a pervert."
Indeed, i went through that for years until i started working for myself five years ago. A living testament to more of the state's incompetence; sabotage a citizen's ability to find employment by stigmatizing him long after he's paid his debt and completed his sentence.
The no-brainer: criminal history should not in any way affect a person's employment opportunities unless doing so is considered part of the punishment. But the state wouldn't want to do that because that's deliberately creating unemployment.
So, no employer should ever be able to concern themselves with a prospective employee's record when considering him for employment. It's blatant discrimination because all that should matter is the skill level of the employee.
And, if this is not obliged, then the state should provide an employment alternative that is equal to the opportunity lost by the person who is refused a job because of his criminal history.
Discuss.

Why are you preaching to me? I was only stating a fact. Perhaps workplaces don't want a pervert in their midst? Even building firms employ women toopromethean75 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 24, 2024 10:09 pm "In a practical sense I imagine it would be hard to find a job when you have to tell prospective employers that you're a pervert."

"And did your 'debt' make you a different person?"
Well, in fact, the state is in debt to me, but that's a rather long and tedious philosophical matter that we should avoid at this juncture.
But to your point, the only crime I've committed since leaving the yard the second time in 2017ish is smokin da cronic and running a red lizzle at an intersection.
And yet.... and yet, still am I punished. Still am I despised. Still am I cursed or, if lucky, unnoticed. Still do i long to return to the city... the warm, smiling faces of the townsfolk greeting me as i pass through open gates, a welcome citizen who can be trusted, respected, needed and loved. A man who can once again live and learn and love among other men!
[Segue into F minor larghetto for strings and horns]
Alas, I find not open gates, but only the suspicious eyes of those who once cast me out. They pace the walls of the castle, guards poised to attack me as a roaring mob below them chants "death to El Creepo!" I dare not go closer, and so I turn back. Back to live among the beasts and the lonely, indifferent life of solitude I've come to know only too well.
[Crescendo, coda and fade]
Audience of Roman citizens standing ovation. Cheers echo throughout the amphitheater as roses and spices thrown from the audience rain down on prom75. He holds his left arm up waving, kisses his right hand, and gestures toward the crowd with it as he slowly rotates, facing everyone, nodding and bowing as he turns. His toga is impossibly white; the kind of white that would be impossible in those days on account of there being no bleach. Think Russel Crowe in Gladiator. There's no way his shirt could have been that white. Not in ancient Rome, where everybody more or less lived outside and there were no washing machines or bleach.
