Aliens
There seems to be a big 'thing' being made of what Americans like to call 'aliens' i.e. illegal immigrants, and the fact that they have been entering the US in record numbers since Biden's presidency. I will have to assume this is true because I can't be bothered researching it and wouldn't know where to start--especially when it comes to impartial information. NOTHING about the US is impartial.
What is being suggested is that 'the Dems' have allowed this to happen, and in fact encouraged these 'aliens' into the 'swing' states as a way of skewing the next election results in their favour (hence the dastardly pet-eating aliens of Ohio).
How could this be the case? How would it be possible for 'aliens' to vote in an American election? Isn't being a US citizen a requirement for voting over there?

Cloward and Piven suggested that overwhelming the systems of the state will lead to a communist revolution... this is an attempt to try that...

Typically impartial American response as expected.

Re: Aliens
The weird irony is that the US is extremely difficult to enter, even as a tourist. You can't have even the most minor of offences on your record wihout going through all kinds of hoops to get an exemption. Yet it doesn't seem concerned about millions of unvetted people coming there, many of whom could be rapists and murderers (and statistically it would be ridiculous to think that this wouldn't be the case) or those escaping prosecution in their own countries. Be realistic. You aren't going to be getting any surgeons or scientists amongst them.
Re: Aliens
The reality is that the US economy requires illegal aliens to do the valuable work that US citizens will not do. But politicians are too busy getting elected by riling up the rabble through fearmongering so no one is pushing through a robust guest worker program to solve this problem and so we're left with the current situation.

By tradition, guest worker programs are almost always for season agricultural work such as fruit and vegetable picking. They used to use a different method to staff the American cotton picking industry but they've had to knock that one on the head after it got controversial in the mid-19th C.accelafine wrote: ↑Sun Sep 15, 2024 6:41 amWhat jobs would those be?LuckyR wrote: ↑Sun Sep 15, 2024 6:15 am The reality is that the US economy requires illegal aliens to do the valuable work that US citizens will not do. Also more or less every job that involves wiping an old person's bum. Few if any rich nations currently produces a surplus of trained nurses and instead we all compete to poach them from poorer countries, for those we usually use special visa provisions rather than seasonal GWPs.
I say "we" not because I am American, but becuase these issues apply to Britain as well and I am sure they also apply to New Zealand.

Re: Aliens
Strange. Until we had mass immigration there was no shortage of nurses or people to wipe elderly arses. And of course that's all immigrants do--wipe arses. They don't have children, require healthcare/housing/welfare/arse-wiping and all the other things that humans require. It just creates a vicious cycle--more people, more needs, more excuses to bring in more people with more needs and on and on it goes...FlashDangerpants wrote: ↑Sun Sep 15, 2024 12:52 pmBy tradition, guest worker programs are almost always for season agricultural work such as fruit and vegetable picking. Gosh, how did we manage to function when there was no-one to do anything? Apparently everyone just lazed around on welfare doing nothing, enjoying the fact that there was hardly any crime, no homelessness, and everyone had a nice house with a bit of green space

Well you got your answer. Now you can do the crazy old lady who's coincidentally nostalgic for the days when she was young routine by yourself.

And you can do your hypocritical, misogynistic wanker routine by yourself. I'm not remotely nostalgic. Just stating facts. And how the fuck would you know how old I am you ageist, sexist underwear-stain?FlashDangerpants wrote: ↑Sun Sep 15, 2024 4:20 pm Well you got your answer. Re: Aliens
We all get fed that line, that people 'won't do the work so we have to bring in others to do it'.LuckyR wrote: ↑Sun Sep 15, 2024 6:15 am The reality is that the US economy requires illegal aliens to do the valuable work that US citizens will not do. I used to go fruit picking as school holiday jobs. It was normal. If people are so lazy that they would rather starve on welfare then wouldn't the unemployment rate be sky high with all the people who 'refuse to work'? It hasn't been sky high since the depression

Food harvesting and prep as well as many in the hospitality industry.accelafine wrote: ↑Sun Sep 15, 2024 6:41 amWhat jobs would those be?LuckyR wrote: ↑Sun Sep 15, 2024 6:15 am The reality is that the US economy requires illegal aliens to do the valuable work that US citizens will not do. And rosy recollections from retired folks how they picked berries over the summer back in high school don't accurately reflect current work conditions of seasonal agriculture workers.

Re: Aliens
Does anyone YOU ACTUALLY KNOW pick fruits or vegetables, work in a chicken processing plant or clean hotel rooms full-time?
I didn't think so.

Re: Aliens
What the fuck does that have to do with anything? Typical retards on here who miss the point as usual. I'm saying if NON immigrants are SO lazy that they won't do ANY jobs that apparently include: taxi drivers, call centres, supermarkets, media connectors, fruit pickers, cleaners, nurses, care givers...... then how the fuck did those jobs get done BEFORE mass immigration? Are you saying that non immigrants are all highly qualified professionals and tradesmen? Are you suggesting that non immigrant people prefer the pittance they get on welfare to a minimum wage job (and I'm not talking minimum US wage which is pathetic)? Or could it be more likely that it's a way to get 'around' minimum wage laws and pesky unions, you know, those things that businesses hate?
And I'm not retired, arsehole. I'm saying that laziness and 'refusing' to do 'ordinary' jobs has NOTHING to do with it!
