just the latest attempt to ''denigrate'' western civilization....
(and I freely admit I have seen nothing of the Olympics including
the opening show) but apparently conservatives, especially
in America are frothing from the mouth about the French
''last supper'' opening ceremonies....they claim it denigrates
god and his son.... a whole lot of gnashing of teeth in America about
this... and France will soon be punished by god......
(frankly, any country that thinks Jerry Lewis is a comic genius,
is going to be punished by god, anyway)
what the conservatives miss, well beside the usual, intelligence
and common sense, is the inability to work out what is actually
denigrating western society/civilization....
what they, conservatives miss is that culture, the acts of ARTISTS,
literature, ART... is not a leading indicator, but a trailing indicator....
they don't lead the way, the simply follow what is already happening....
ART is not proactive, but reactive...something happens and ART
responds to that.....
ART changed not predictively about the rise of modern society,
the industrial complex, the rise of the machines, but ART reacted
to that change.... the rise of all those ART movements were a
reaction to the vast changes within our society/civilization......
as I have pointed out, the negation of human beings and their values,
that is nihilism.... and that is what ART is reacting to...
that negation of human beings, had nothing to do with ART,
but everything to do with the rise of the religion of money......
the new Lords prayer:
Our father who are in heaven,
money be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven..
Give us this day, our daily paycheck,
and forgive our trespasses,
as we pay off those who trespass against us..
Let us not into temptation,
but deliver us from poverty...
for thine is wealth, the power and
glory, forever and ever
Amen...
for today, we equate god with money.....or have you forgotten
those who have turned IQ45 into the second son of god?
and all that chimp loves is money... that is his religion, his god,
money..... and he doesn't even hide this fact......
and one wonders why western civilization has sunk pretty dam low?
I don't wonder.... it is the allegiance we have toward money and wealth....
everything is for sale, everything has a price... and money is the goal
that everyone works for....part of the trinkets of existence.....
and with money, there is no past, no present and no future..
just more of the same.... what is the final goal of capitalism?
Why, there is no final goal, just getting more and more money....
that's it, that is the only value of money... to get more money....
the emptiness of that existence, leaves us with no hope, no goal,
no finality of our lives.... we die and our estate goes to court to
pay off our debts... even after death, our money still funds
the religion of money.... there is your final legacy... paying off
your debts... even after death, your final legacy is paying off
creditors.... your final obligation to society.... paying your debts...
and what does that final act say about us and our society/civilization?
and conservatives blame cultural actions like the French ''last supper''
for the decline and fall of western civilization.... I have news for you,
that decline began when we took as our religion, our faith, money....
you want to find the source of western negation or dehumanization
of human beings..... look at your religion.... your faith, your god...
Money.....

Me neither, keter. When i heard that a one 'snoop dog' would be hosting the olympics, i, like the ancient greeks, threw up a little in my mouth.

I haven't read Hegels' The Phenomenology of Spirit, but it's probably got nothing on Kant's CPR.
Here are my thoughts on this book I didn't read........
Hegel's *The Phenomenology of Spirit* reads like a labyrinthine Wikipedia entry, stitched together by a time-traveling philosopher who binged on YouTube conspiracy theories and promptly joined a debate club. This tome, allegedly an exploration of human consciousness, often feels like a verbose TikTok rant stretched across 600 pages, missing the point as spectacularly as a Jesuit at a tech conference. The Jesuits, with their obsessive penchant for scholastic hair-splitting, would likely praise Hegel's work for its Byzantine complexity, entirely missing its utter lack of coherence. Imagine if Nietzsche and the Kardashians co-wrote a self-help book after a weekend of existential dread and overpriced lattes; that's Hegel for you. His dialectical method is about as useful as a Snapchat filter in a courtroom, and just as bewildering. In short, this magnum opus is the philosophical equivalent of trying to navigate an IKEA manual while blindfolded, drunk, and coached by Jesuits.
