Christianity is about loving others, forgiving others and yourself, and simply being good. That couldn't possibly be corrected since it ignores evil! Good and evil are fundamental features of reality and we should not ignore one in favor of another.seeds wrote: ↑Sun Jul 07, 2024 7:52 pm _______

Your reply suggests to me that you didn't bother to watch the short YouTube video?bahman wrote: ↑Sun Jul 07, 2024 8:32 pmChristianity is about loving others, forgiving others and yourself, and simply being good. I watched the video. That made me angry. The video is not about the necessity of Christianity but the necessity of Social Democracy which is about feeling responsibility for yourself and others, equity,...seeds wrote: ↑Sun Jul 07, 2024 9:07 pmYour reply suggests to me that you didn't bother to watch the short YouTube video?bahman wrote: ↑Sun Jul 07, 2024 8:32 pmChristianity is about loving others, forgiving others and yourself, and simply being good. Yeah, that's some high production video work there. It must have cost at least a $1.39 to put that together, plus an extra dollar to pay the crew.
How many YouTubers do you know of that would hand wash the grimy leg stump of a crippled homeless person?
Would you do that?
Sure, it tugs at the heart strings, and probably compels some viewers to send this particular YouTuber more money, but he genuinely passes it on to those who truly need it, as I have seen in dozens of his videos.
I know what you're thinking, he's simply trying to mimic the "Chosen One" (Donald J. Trump).
It's an honest mistake.

What if so-called 'evil' was meant to be a so-called 'fundamental feature' for only a specific, or short, period of time? (Which you adult human beings actually and eventually evolve, or 'mature', and 'grow up' and, 'out of' doing the 'evil', which, really, is only created and done by you adults alone.) Then, 'should' you ignore one for the other? Or, it could also be asked, for clarification, 'would it be best, or better, to ignore, or refrain from doing, one over the other?bahman wrote: ↑Sun Jul 07, 2024 8:32 pmChristianity is about loving others, forgiving others and yourself, and simply being good. I thought "christianity" was about 'listening to' 'the son', (of God), or in a more 'advanced, and 'up to date', term', 'listening to' 'the childen', (of God).seeds wrote: ↑Sun Jul 07, 2024 7:52 pm _______

Also, 'listening to' "jesus christ", ('the son/the child' of God), is just a reference to 'listening to the inner-child', that is just with-in all of 'you' anyway.
Re: This is how Christianity is supposed to work...
I wasn't referring to the quality of the video.
No, I wouldn't do it, but I don't need to keep coming up with ways of getting folks to watch my Youtube channel. How many YouTubers do you know of that would hand wash the grimy leg stump of a crippled homeless person?
Would you do that?
Well I do agree that it's a very Christian thing to do. Didn't Jesus used to randomly pick out sick people to cure? I can't help wondering how the poor sods who he didn't cure must have been left feeling.Sure, it tugs at the heart strings, and probably compels some viewers to send this particular YouTuber more money, but he genuinely passes it on to those who truly need it, as I have seen in dozens of his videos.
I'm thinking that showering the odd down-and-out with donated money must make the guy feel really good about himself, but using the money to support a soup kitchen or something might be a fairer use of it. I don't suppose that would generate as many views, though.I know what you're thinking,

Re: This is how Christianity is supposed to work...
What I got from watching many of this man's videos, is the feeling that my own personal efforts to try and help with world hunger (efforts that began back in the 70s), are practically nothing when compared to his direct, person-to-person efforts.
People like this man are my heroes...
...(hopefully, I won't find out something horrible about him later
Anyway, as far as what the "true spirit" of Christianity is all about, I hope you'll agree that what the man in the video (BI Phakathi) is doing is far more on point than what this "Christian"...

...is doing, as he anoints his lackies with his holy (Armani) shroud (size 42 medium) in the hope of soliciting money from his onlooking television ( ̶m̶a̶r̶k̶s̶/̶d̶u̶p̶e̶s̶ ) congregation in order to add to his own personal fortune, which is estimated to be around 60 million dollars.
