Warmongering. That's generally always the root behind people who want to restore past glory. When our civilization is attacked, we'll defend ourselves. Until then, beating up on other countries because they won't bend to the desires of those in charge isn't "defense." Most people just want to live peaceful lives. It's generally the power elite who want soldiers, soldiers to go fight their wars for them. I'm not here necessarily suggesting that you are a member of the power elite. There is the possibility that you are merely a misguided tool advocating for their purposes.Alexis Jacobi wrote: ↑Sat Mar 09, 2024 4:33 pm 3) Identity. You are a wondrous example of a man who has lost his cultural and civilizational identity. To define identity requires a intellectual platform in ideas & values. Because you are the spat-out scrag of postmodern wimpishness, a collapsed man who, very probably, could not defend his civilization nor his country, the notion of *strong identity* is foreign to you. And in it lurks a sense of danger. I refer to Jonathan Bowden who spoke about A European Grammar of Self-Intolerance. The present dispensation has castrated you. You are either an intellectual weakling or a faggot or some sort of masturbating porn-addict (this is a general reference). To recover, to consolidate, a sense of strong identity is terrifying to you, and indeed it is described as something fascistic, something dark and dangerous. So the Politics of Identity, and very certainly the need for Occidental Caucasian man to rediscover and re-invigorate Identity is something crucial but also feared (cowered away from).
Spengler, eh. How strange that he wrote during the heyday of European colonialism. Hardley, "decline" in the traditional sense, more like greed and overreach. Of course, he became a herald for Nazi paranoia.
You ought to read Chomsky's book, "Necessary Illusions". The title is based on a term coined by Reinhold Niebuhr. Niebuhr believed that ordinary people need to believe in "illusions" (a.k.a. lies) to do the "right" thing. Or more accurately to do what he and his ilk wanted of them. He was a "theologian" no less.
Lies, lies, lies. How else to manipulate and motivate the populace to do what we ought not do.
