Never heard of em.
Fantasy genre fan are ya?
Whadja think about Morrowind and Oblivion. Greatest open world games ever made or what?
Those games were so enormous I'd get so totally overwhelmed with uncompleted quests that I'd give up tryna complete em and just travel around randomly lookin for trouble to get into.
Ever attacked an innocent citizen and got the whole goddamn empire after u? Now that's some serious shit. U can't enter any towns without the POleece comin after u.

OK lol that LGOP reminds me of Leisure Suit Larry And The Land Of The Lounge Lizards on the IBM PCjr.
That was the very first porn I ever experienced, and how I learned what a rubber was. The first thing u did was buy rubbers at that corner store. Lol holy shit I totally forgot about that game. There was a hot tub scene where u get this hot chick in there and if u say the right things, she has sex with u. Wtf dude I'm like eleven years old.

I remember when you had unprotected sex with the hooker in Leisure Suit Larry, your underwear would start glowing in rainbow colors and you'd die, lol.

My first games were Wing Commander, Myst, Return to Zork, Wolfenstein 3d.promethean75 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 06, 2024 2:32 am Never heard of em.

Okay gamers here's a demo of Shadowguns Legends on the tablet. Not sure if u can play it on something other than a phone or tablet. Free game, no ads. As far as shmups go (shoot em ups) it's great fun. 27 levels. U get quests and u can play the arena with two other players. Customizable gear with upgrades all that standard rpg stuff.
It's a bitch to play without a joystick controller tho.
p.s. that punching bag and stingray cost me almost ten bucks. There's like twenty emotes u can buy.

I’ve noticed that some people are exploring legal avenues when they feel game companies push addictive designs, so if you’re curious about that aspect, check out this page for some perspective

Which amounts to sayin' I'm a weak-willed schmuck who needs the State to protect me from myself.
A sane court would cast such a person out into the street, empty-handed.

What about drug companies that produce addictive drugs? Should drug companies be free and unfettered to manufacture whatever sells?henry quirk wrote: ↑Wed Apr 16, 2025 12:04 amWhich amounts to sayin' I'm a weak-willed schmuck who needs the State to protect me from myself.

Not fair enough at all, he just completely copped out of your question. Most people believe in *some* kinds of reasonable regulations on things, even if they err towards freedom in most things. If someone is saying "addictive medication is a problem and should be regulated", but saying "other addictive products are not a problem and shouldn't be regulated"... we're on a philosophy forum, it's reasonable to ask "why?" Right? Why regulate this but not that?Gary Childress wrote: ↑Thu Apr 17, 2025 2:34 amFair enough.henry quirk wrote: ↑Thu Apr 17, 2025 2:12 amFrom where I stand: that there is apples and Buicks.Gary Childress wrote: ↑Thu Apr 17, 2025 1:02 am

Maybe there's a good answer, but just 'apples and buicks' isn't it.

Re: How to end my computer game addiction?
It’s suggested that addiction is a way to try to self-sooth. Something isn’t right. Maybe deep, subconscious wounds that one is afraid to address so they just do something to distract or numb themselves. To be fair, life could be considered a series of distractions. But some are healthier than others.
