If you understand just this one thing, you will understand my approach and what I am doing here. Line it, hate it, or be indifferent, it is all the same to me.

I am here to clarify my own ideas in regard to the topics that come up here. I am the only subject that I am working with. And the only person I want to influence. I write about the choices I make and the reasons.

The statements I make — in this case about sexual ethics — apply to me alone. Yes, they are bolstered or reinforced by the (utterly stupid, immature, reckless and childish) things many people here say, including (and sometimes especially) you. But as you well know: that’s just my opinion.

My whole purpose is only to see, to realize, what I believe to be true, and to write it out here. Writing it out helps me. I have as much *right* to do this as anyone.

No offense is meant. None.
You respond to my posts on the basis of your interpretation of my comments, and I am merely responding to yours under the same principle. You obviously think I am reading you wrongly, but does it never occur to you that you might be doing the same with me?

Not so much reading me wrongly, but rather unfamiliar with our (Occidental) traditions and also some of the •metaphysical principles• that drive my assertions (which have the ultimate purpose of concretizing and strengthening my own resolve).

What has happened is an issue of our cultural education. Because of a widespread and general turn against our own traditions — this developed very strongly in the 1960’s — people rebelled against hierarchies in all areas. There was a strongly negative result from this: a breakdown in relationship to those pathways and traditions — but also to a region in thought.

The downward turn can be described as a turn down into sensuality and the immediacy of sensation and in some ways for an entire generation.

I am a product of that (more properly of the pist-Sixties (80’s and 90’s) and, due to my own processes, have felt it necessary to reconnect the broken chain.

I am, like many now-Conservatives, actually a product of libertinism.

I arouse something like contempt because of the potentially moralizing tone in my formulations. But in our present dispensation so would anyone proposing self-control, self-restraint along those lines understood to be religiously repressive.

Referring to Platonism or Aristotelianism gives me a certain cover however, because their ideas and presentations are philosophic more than religious.

Considering some of our "traditions" do we really want to go back to them?

They're not stuck. Typing is such fun. It's just difficult to step away from the keyboard.

How dense you are, Gary.

My resolve in relation to living in accord with those principles I work to define.

How can you, a not unintelligent man, not grasp such basic things?!? Is there a Key that I might use to understand you?

Talk about those *traditions*.

The fact is: you have little idea what they are, and what they represent.

True. I don't understand segregation or burning witches. You've got me there.

Technically it wasn’t a criticism.
That speaks volumes - but right over your head again
