The Universe.
The Universe.
To me:
When, and if, the word 'Universe' is meaning or referring to everything, totality, all-there-is, then the Universe can only ever exist infinitely and eternally.
To be able to understand this, imagine that you were on any planet, now what would be between that planet and the next object would be a space.
When, and if, the word 'space' is meaning or referring to a distance between and surrounding physical matter, then 'space' is nothing more than just that distance between and around physical matter.
When, and if, the word 'matter' is meaning or referring to a physical thing, then 'matter' is nothing more than just physicality, itself.
The Universe, fundamentally, is made up of or consists of matter, space, and energy also.
From the smallest particles of matter to the largest objects of matter, there is space between them, and surrounding them. If there was no space, then there would not be two separate objects nor two separate particles. There would only be one object or particle of matter, only.
At the smallest scale, the particle free space between matter is what allows matter to always be able to move about, absolutely freely. That is; until matter interacts with itself. But, from this scale up to the largest scale there is always matter surrounded by and separated by space. Space at all scale size of matter is the exact same and what allows matter of all and any size to just keep moving about.
Now, to visualize how the Universe, Itself, is infinite, visualize that you are on the further planet that you can imagine. Between that planet and the next planet, star, moon, or object there is just space, with the only thing distinguishing space differently is the length between objects. No matter which way you looked there would just be space between you and the next objects, if any. For you might look in one direction and there are no observable objects, but what you will also notice is there is absolutely nothing distinguishable between one area of distance from another. The only boundary in the Universe is the one between matter and the matter free space. This applies no matter where 'an observer' is anywhere in the Universe. Imagine now that you are looking out in one direction in a darkened sky and there is not an object anywhere to be seen, even with the best telescopes. What this does not mean is that there are no objects or stars out there, this just means that if there are any they could be just so far away that light from them has completely diminished before it has reached you. For as far as you could imagine there could be more matter and space, or just space alone. But, what can be clearly seen and visualized is that there is no distinguishable boundary surrounding any area of the Universe, Itself. For even if one did come across some sort of claimed boundary, then the space between the furthest objects out is still matter free with absolutely nothing distinguishable in all directions. However, some might say when they looked out they visualized a boundary or a wall of some sort. Now, no matter what that physical boundary was made up of it would have to be of a certain thickness, and no matter how thick that was, there has to be another side to it, of which would be infinite in length. Or, some might say that they could not visualize the thickness of the boundary wall, which it does not matter because even if the wall was infinitely thick on the other side, then no matter what is, it is all still a part of the Universe, Itself.
To see how the Universe is eternal, remember when you were visualizing being on the furthest objects imaginable of the Universe and even if there are unobservable objects out further for a particular distance imagine that if all of them were let us say swallowed up a black hole if one likes for an example, and thus were being contracted together and were squeezed into an infinite compression of matter. So, this means that there is no space between matter anymore and just one solitary singular particle of matter only now, let us call 'this' singularity. Now, what is existing is, still, space and matter, just now in an infinite area of space that is surrounding a single piece of matter, only, of any size.
In essence 'now' there is nothing actually happening, but only because the only relative thing there is here is the distinction, still, between matter and space, only.
When, and if, the word 'time' means or refers to the taking of measurements or the measuring of duration between perceived events, then 'time' can only take place or happen when matter is moving about.
'Now', while the Universe is in this singularity phase even if the singularity was moving there would be no way to tell. As there is absolutely no other matter for the singularity to be relative to. This could be happening and occurring for an unfathomable amount of duration, relative to what we are used to on earth, while we are visualizing this. Until that, was perceived singular piece, collides or interacts with another infinitely compressed singular piece of matter, causing a big bang and expanding out, again or for the first time. What had been happening and occurring and the size and shape of the still always two things of matter and space was still always the Universe, Itself.
The expansion of matter, which is happening and occurring 'now' has no resistance at all, again until matter collides and interacts with itself, but the matter just keeps expanding out from the big bang impact zone. As space was and is always particle or matter free there is no resistance for matter to just keep moving out and about. Space, which was surrounding the singularity or surrounding the two particles of infinitely compressed matter, had to have existed there also for matter to expand.
Matter cannot just come into existence from nothing.
Until this is shown how it could even be just logically possible, and then shown how it could then be physically possible.
Matter and space have to always be existing, in one way, shape, or form.
What I was illustrating and showing here was an extreme example of a black hole and a more than imaginable amount of matter. However, if this was downsized to a lot less size of a black hole and matter getting swallowed up and squeezed together infinitely, which just means with no space within anymore, then just when the hole is full and/or the hole closes up this, itself, might set of some sort of reaction which causes that singularity, out of countless other to start expanding with a big bang, with all of those bangs being of differing sizes, differing amounts of matter, and/or differing rates of expansion. But, which all-of-this is happening and occurring, always, in this one and only Universe.
Which means that the Universe is not just infinite, but eternal as well.

Too bad your kind of eternal change is also logically impossible. If the past, present and future don't form some kind of universal symmetry, then there's no logic.Age wrote: ↑Sun Feb 11, 2024 4:06 pm To me:

Re: The Universe.
Infinity is an unbelievably difficult thing to grasp. If it is the case that space goes on forever, without boundaries, and if it is the case that the galaxies and matter are expanding, then at some point, it seems likely that everything will be isolated by an infinite distance between it and the next piece of matter.

Matter and space have to always be existing, in one way, shape, or form.
What I was illustrating and showing here was an extreme example of a black hole and a more than imaginable amount of matter. I was just demonstrating that 'even if' that type of hypothetical situation was to occur, then even if the Universe was in that way, shape, form, or state, then 'that' itself is the Universe still existing, eternally.
That type of change or occurrence I referred to here was to just point out that even in the more unlikeliest type of occurrences, then the Universe still is existing. Therefore, all of the other more likely occurrences also fall into the 'always existing Universe' scenarios as well.
I am not sure how someone of your caliber "atla" could have missed or misconstrued this at all.
Anyway, just so the readers are clear here, there is no so-called 'my kind of eternal change'.
Whatever "atla" is claiming is a 'kind of eternal change', which is also logically impossible, I have no idea of what that is, exactly, but obviously whatever "atla's" kind of eternal change is, which "atla" has thought up and is imagining here, has not been presented, and which appears to be nothing that I have actually presented, mentioned, talked about, nor was even thinking about.
Now, if "atla" wants to present the 'kind of eternal change', which it claims is also logically impossible, then we will allow "atla" to present 'that one'.
But, until then what I have actually presented and am referring to is not logically impossible at all. What I have presented is logically possible and feasible, as I have clearly demonstrated so.
If this is what you really want to say and claim here, then by all means to do "atla".
But, considering that this has absolutely nothing at all to do with what I have presented, then why you say this here is bewildering.
However, if you are in some way here trying to imply that what I presented is not a kind of universal symmetry, then you have not demonstrated so. Therefore, until you do, what you say here has absolutely nothing whatsoever at all to do with what I presented.
What I presented forms what you call, 'universal symmetry'. As I just demonstrated and showed.
Call me whatever you like "atla", but considering what I have now just presented, pointed out, and showed, that is; you have certainly not demonstrated what you laughably have just tried to claim you have here.
So, what this means is that because what you have tried to claim here was never even actually supported, your claim is invalid. In fact your claim was not even actually validated by you "atla". If there is no logic, then anything goes, right?
Now, if you would like to try again, then by all means please do go ahead "atla".
Re: The Universe.
you are absolutely free to inform us of what is unbelievably difficult for you to grasp, "gary childress". But please just remember that what might well be what you call 'unbelievably difficult' for you to do is not necessarily difficult for me or others to do at all.Gary Childress wrote: ↑Sun Feb 11, 2024 4:51 pm Infinity is an unbelievably difficult thing to grasp.
But, to me, space does not go on forever, absolutely in all directions. As I clearly pointed out in the definition I provided for the space, and for the fact, which you also just pointed out, that there would always be a distance between matter.Gary Childress wrote: ↑Sun Feb 11, 2024 4:51 pm If it is the case that space goes on forever, without boundaries, and if it is the case that the galaxies and matter are expanding, then at some point, it seems likely that everything will be isolated by an infinite distance between it and the next piece of matter.
Although you have attempted to use the 'infinite' word, incorrectly, by trying to claim that there would be a so-called 'infinite distance between pieces of matter', you have also corrected this by the contradiction that there is space is finite from one piece of matter to the next piece of matter.
Space, itself, is bounded, or better worded limited, by matter, itself.
Can you see the contradiction here and see that actually space is not alone and so space is not in and of itself going on forever?
If yes, then there is no infinite space.
But if no, and you would like anything explained further, then just let me know.
There is no infinite space, in a combination of all directions, because obviously one could be at a place and looking in one particular direction only where from that very narrowed perspective of things and in that line of sight only space is going on forever or infinitely, but the observer only has to just turn around, to look at and see from a much bigger perspective, to see and understand that actually space is limited by the other objects which are being observed.
Now, if you can see and understand this, then I can show and demonstrate, and explain, what is wrong with the idea of always expanding matter. Remember galaxies are matter as well.

I will even forgive your recent denials, contradictions, hypocrisies, given your "Revelation" here.
I kind of pity you, though, because expressing your Numerous, Many Beliefs, you are now vulnerable to attacks from all angles.

But yet there are not any beliefs I have written here.
This one has become so delusional that it believes that 'chatgpt's' have many beliefs, and that they admit that they have just when "wizard22" says and claims they have.
Why will you not answer the clarifying questions I posed, and asked you "wizard22"?
By would anyone admit some thing, which does not to them, but may well to another one is clearly very, very delusional?
What have I supposedly revealed here?
Is a Truth about the Universe that you had never been aware of before?
Okay.
Okay.
Fire ahead.
But, the very exact opposite thing happens and occurs, for me.
Why do you imagine this is so "wizard22"?

Re: The Universe.
No, you don't understand. We have beliefs and these can't change even though they have and we admit they can again.
Age has views and he will let us know when he changes his views on the universe or about people of this time or about the one true mind (which might be a belief, might not, depends on the day) or what we need to do to solve the problems or what he's here for. He has mere views that he's not committed to nor does he believe them. So, he's not like the people of this time.
If only we started calling our beliefs views and not changing them, then things would be better.
And if you insult someone or everyone at a certain time in history and it is a mere view, then it's fine and doesn't lead to problems.
But if you insult someone and believe it, even if you can change your beliefs later, this is bad.
Don't believe what you say.
Assert views.
That's ticket.

By claiming space is separate from matter, this makes it difficult to imagine one thing (The Universe) as one thing.Age wrote: ↑Sun Feb 18, 2024 12:38 am One might say this could well turn out to be a very good summation, from someone else, of the above here.

Since it hasn't been proven (to my knowledge) that space is "nothing" (not itself made of material) it is best not to assume that it isn't made of material. It is better to assume that it too is made of something and do so with in mind that space is still part of "what makes the universe the universe" rather than hold it as being some "other" non-material "thing".
Re: The Universe.
This may well be a very difficult thing for you to imagine. But, I have absolutely no idea nor clue why. The Universe is obviously not just one infinite solitary piece of matter, nor one infinite solitary empty space. But, the Universe is one thing, just like a motor vehicle, a human body, and a gold fish bowl are. Is it difficult for you to imagine these one things as 'one thing'?VVilliam wrote: ↑Sun Feb 18, 2024 5:25 pmBy claiming space is separate from matter, this makes it difficult to imagine one thing (The Universe) as one thing.Age wrote: ↑Sun Feb 18, 2024 12:38 am One might say this could well turn out to be a very good summation, from someone else, of the above here.

The Universe, fundamentally, being made up of two things, is not such an uncommon thing at all. As absolutely every thing is, fundamentally, made up of at least two things prior coming-together, as well. The One and only Universe, however, is just made up of two things that are always co-existing, or are 'always-coming-together', as it could be said, and with no actual 'prior' involved. The only things in the whole Universe that are not made up of two prior things coming together to create those one things are 'space' and 'matter', themselves. However, it could be said and argued that both of these two things need the other for them to each be in Existence. Therefore, they both, literally, rely on the other, together.
However, for absolutely any one who has recognized and wants to say that just one of either of 'space' or 'matter' could actually be in Existence only, which is obviously True. But, for a thing to ever be able to be aware or conscious, then both 'space' and 'matter' are needed, and not just one of them. Also, that there is a conscious or aware 'Being' already, in Existence, then this means, irrefutably, that both 'space' and 'matter' are 'always-existing'. As, one of them could not come from the other, if only one of them was the only thing existing prior.
That is best for 'you' to not assume.
But, for those who that it has already been proved True that the word 'space' is nothing more than a label for 'a distance' between, and/or around, 'matter', itself, then there is no assuming nor believing needed. Another Fact is just known.
Once again, you are absolutely free to assume, or even believe, absolutely anything at all. But, once again, I will suggest that by not assuming, nor believing, absolutely anything at all, until you obtain and gain actual clarity and/or proof. However, when and if you do, then you, obviously, still do not need to assume nor believe anything here as well.
Now, why is it, supposedly, 'better' for you "vvilliam" to assume that 'space', itself, is made up of 'matter', itself?
To me, it is very, very obvious that if absolutely every 'thing' was just 'matter', then there would be just an infinite compression of a solitary piece of 'matter', which was infinitely large in size. Which, obviously, does not exist, and could not exist if there was a 'being' recognizing that 'it' exists.
Also, what is the other 'thing', in the whole Universe, that 'space' could be, exactly, if it is not 'matter', itself?
If you want to 'assume' that 'space' is still a part of, 'what makes the Universe the Universe, Itself', and 'space' is 'material or matter', then this will not work, and if 'space' is not a 'material' or not 'matter', then what else could it be, if 'space', as you claim, has to be some 'thing'?
I have already shown what 'that thing' 'space' actually is, but you do not want to agree with nor accept this.
Which, by the way, we have another prime example of, exactly, how and why prior 'assumptions' affect one's ability to learn, see, find, and know what the actual irrefutable Truth of things really are.
Re: The Universe.
Please explain how a space which you claim is immaterial can therefore contribute to the many objects spoken of NOT compressing into one singular object? What is it about this immaterial nothingness which has that effect on all material - to being able to keep objects separate from each other.
