An intervention of a deity in the evolution of the natural world.
Evolution, God made or an accident

Re: Evolution, God made or an accident
But why assume there is such an entity who intervenes in the natural world, when you already know you cannot know of any such deity?
Do you just like playing with imagined things as though they were real in your story you are telling others about?

For the same reason you do. Go figure.Walker wrote: ↑Sun Dec 17, 2023 4:37 pmBegin with figuring out why you make huge assumptions like that, about who knows and who doesn't, about who will know and who will not know.
And as was already noted, you can also work on figuring out why you play with words rather than philosopize with meaning.
Re: Evolution, God made or an accident
The point is there is a huge debate about evolution between theists and atheists. I am saying that both parties are wrong in the sense that evolution is not a precise practice so one cannot use it to make an argument against or in favor of God, creation, and the like.
Re: Evolution, God made or an accident
I am saying that these imagined entities may exist or may not.Dontaskme wrote: ↑Sun Dec 17, 2023 5:40 pmSo you are talking about imagined entities, ok I understand that.
Re: Evolution, God made or an accident
No one is wrong about their own belief, if that's what they strongly believe to be real and true. There is No force on earth, that I know of anyway, that could ever take away someone else's firmly held belief, it would be like taking away their life, and I'm sure they are not going to allow anyone to take what is theirs that they will no doubt defend to their deathbed.bahman wrote: ↑Sun Dec 17, 2023 5:46 pmThe point is there is a huge debate about evolution between theists and atheists. Re: Evolution, God made or an accident
Well I guess if you can imagine something to exist, then it will obviously exist for you. Once you have imagined something to exist, you cannot unimagine what you have already imagined to exist can you?
Re: Evolution, God made or an accident
A belief could be right or wrong. For some ideas such as God, life after death, and the like, we face them to be sure they are true.Dontaskme wrote: ↑Sun Dec 17, 2023 5:52 pmNo one is wrong about their own belief, if that's what they strongly believe to be real and true. Only if that's what you imagine.bahman wrote: ↑Sun Dec 17, 2023 6:09 pmReality could be different from what I imagine.
Re: Evolution, God made or an accident
Well I for one don't know anything about life, death, or God. Or life after death. I only know what I imagine I know about those things, and only I get to say whether I'm right or wrong to imagine those things. Come to think if it, I can only be right to imagine those things, because well, I am the one imagining those things, so I'm right knowing I am the one imagining those things, because I imagined them. But then I could be wrong too, because I have no idea who is rightly imagining those things except what is being imagined that I have no idea or knowledge of.bahman wrote: ↑Sun Dec 17, 2023 6:07 pmA belief could be right or wrong. You demonstrate many examples of natural selection, and you can show many examples of such ifiotic design as the render the idea of "intelligence" void.bahman wrote: ↑Fri Dec 15, 2023 3:49 pm You cannot disprove the existence of a supernatural being that gives shape to nature. You cannot prove it either. Evolution is not a very precise practice. Even physics is not a very precise practice as things can be manipulated in digits that are beyond the precision of physics.
For example - do you know about the nerve that serves the Larynx?
